As varied as the people I know. Some of the ones that are on the top of the list are: writing, photography, traveling, movies (especially horror), quantum physics, playing, books, music, the paranormal, being nice, cosplay (and Dragon con), provoking the thoughts of others, and taking little adventures. Two of my life goals are to visit each continental US state before I'm 50 (I'd like to include Hawaii and Alaska, but they're more of an option) and be in a horror movie. I heart zombies, road trips, salad fingers, special fx stuff, conversations, studying human behaviorisms, discovering new bars and new beers, kissing and my kitties to name a few.
in no particular order: Murder City Devils, The Flaming Lips, Gorillaz (i heart 2-d), Bare Naked Ladies, Death From Above 1979, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Beatles, Blur, Presidents of the United States, Squatweiler, The Misfits, Local H, The Cars, Portishead, Muse, Beck, Poe, The Gossip, The Marked Men, Toys That Kill, Less Than Jake, Placebo, The Go-Go's, Suicide Machine, Toadies, Beatles, Lyle Lovett, Goldfinger, Le Tigre, Sugarcult, The Ramones, The Pixies, Pink Floyd, Brian Setzer, David Bowie, Dandy Warhols, Alien Ant Farm, Pink Razors, Rev. Horton Heat, The Who, The Cure and lots of others I can't recall off hand...I love songs moreso than the musicians themselves oftentimes. Oh, and I love checking out rockabilly music even thought it doesn't seem like it on the list really. Would love to find some decent go-go and surf punk kind of sounds...totally digging on the more go-go mod beat as of late.
Movies
Return of the Living Dead, Death Race 2000, Chumscrubber, all the Harry Potter movies, The Haunting, Repo Man, Bones, Perfume, Animal House, Halloween, Session 9, Stigmata, The Car, Final Destination, Dazed and Confused, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, 28 Days Later, Slap Shot, Empire Records, Tank Girl, Grandma's Boy, Nightmare Before Christmas, Usual Suspects, The Crow, Stallag 17, Burial Ground, Wizard of Oz, Buckaroo Bonsai, Evil Dead, Reservoir Dogs, Army of Darkness, Wait Until Dark, Scream, Dirty Works, Almost Famous, From Dusk to Dawn, Con Air, Cry Baby, To Sir With Love, Hairspray, Battle Royale, May, What The Bleep Do We Know, Pulp Fiction, all Kevin Smith and Adam Sandler flicks. - two guilty pleasure movies: Bugsy Malone and Sgt. pepper's Lonely Heart's Club band. A movie I like that gets the worst rap - Hudson Hawk. My most quoted movies? - Scream and Mallrats. Worst movie ever that I love because it's so bad? Hard Rock Zombies.
Television
I'm addicted to reality tv. Survivor, Amazing Race, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Chopped, True Beauty, America's Next Top Model, Most Haunted, Haunted Adventures, Celebrity Sober House, Brett Michael's whatever of Love, Wife Swap, you name it, I dig on at least half of them.
Books
The Red Tent, American Skin, Harry Potter, Angels & Demons, The Bottoms, Nightrunners, Choke, Needful Things, The Stand, Writer of the Purple Rage, Dry, Basket Case, The Secret, Naked, Geek Love, Freaky Deaky, Lulliby, The Journal of Nick Twist, Push, Hoot, Lord of the Flies, Gerald's Game, Othello and the dictionary...I think I own more books than I do cds.
my personal pick: Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff Jesus' Childhood Pal...hands down, one of the funniest books I've ever read...and I have a crush on Serge A. Storms from the Tim Dorsey books. He's insane but very entertaining.
Heroes
Whenever someone I know does something nice for me I always ask them, did you ever know that you're my hero? so I guess possibly anyone...especially my friend Coye, my boy Marcus, (and my boyfriend Jimmy Carter too).
My newest hero will be whomever gets me or gives me my next job!
I’m an easy going control freak and I’m a pretty active lazy person. I’m left handed and left winged. I have over 400 PEZ and I’m not really fond of ice cream, potatoes or Neil Young. The city of Chicago is my boyfriend and the band Chicago is my nemesis. I love spending time by myself because I usually prefer the company. I like geeks but not goons, I find animated people sexier than real people, and Steely Dan makes me want to stab things. I consider myself a corporate bohemian and I'm a fan of chunky black boots, blankies, kissing and my kitties. I think the sexiest part of a man rests between their ears and above their chin. I've been created and cultivated by God, sex, and circumstance but not necessarily always in that order. I love to people watch and enjoy kicking back and chatting with friends. I love laughing and do it as often as I can. I prefer mini golf courses to trendy night clubs and I prefer hot dogs on a park bench over a fancy 10 course meal. I try to be pleasant to everyone if I can, and I find common courtesy a dying art. If I had to name the colour that is on my bedroom walls I would call it baby poo and I think the game SPUD is my favourite outdoor activity ever. I think about creating art more than it actually happens. *sniff*, I describe actions with ** and dramatic pauses with... My NYE resolution was to explore my taste buds over that of their fourth grade realm and I'm teaching myself to cook. I used to post a question of the day on my blog, I kick serious Uno ass, I brake for reality tv, and I heart zombies...oh, and I have a thing for doll heads too. Oh yeah, and on the occasion I will post stupid surveys and such on my bullies depending on the stress/avoidance factors in my life...they're such lovely tools for the art of procrastination!
Currently, I just got laid off from my job, so now I spend a lot of time searching for a new one and praying to find one and hope to become a corporate bohemian once again.
Who I'd like to meet:
A new boss that says you're awesome and you're hired! Creative-type people. People that like to answer questions. People that know life's serious and all that, but can still enjoy it for all its absurdity. Horror fans. Jimmy Carter. And of course, there's always Salad Fingers...
And who I DON'T want to meet are all the people (with just one photo)who have been hurt or have lost at love and are looking for their one true person (angel, soul mate, etc)...who I can conveniently contact via AIM or yahoo. I am not the one you want, please move on for you are spam to me. And please, if you are not into spelling at all, please do not hit me up with text type because I'm not a fan of it one bit. I'm a fan of the written word and it throws me off when it's all jacked up.
below: a few pics from the road trip...would post more but am having photo issues.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:
“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.” —Famous Monsters of Filmland
“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes
