Sounds Like
Like Summer Lovin' when some guy at the beach comes and kicks sand in your face.
Kiwi Punch was formed in early summer of 2005 with former members Neil S, Todd S, Andy B and Rob S. Only after their first show at the Monroeville Summerfest in '05, they disbanded never to see the spotlight again. Around that same time, Rob Sassi was still searching for some way to unleash his musical ideas and eventually, after some talking and persuading, Doug and Rob started jammin' late nights, in a smoky playhouse together creating the beginning legacy known as Kiwi Punch. With that, our good friend Jay was the second bassist to join our band and our second drummer Kenny Mason. Jay played the first show/battle of the bands (we won it! (not really sure how lol)) with us but soon left afterwards. Rob Pantalone was the next bassist to hit Kiwi Punch, and helped the development of the music a lot during the time... but alas Rob too left the band.. did I mention Neil rejoined the band for a few shows and played trombone? Anyways.... After Rob Pants left, Tony M came and joined the punch crew to throw down some basslines and partake in some smoky smoky.. Good friends Mary Miller (trombone) and Tony Ross (Alto Sax) have been known to share the stage with kiwi punch and put on a hell of a show!... But while things were looking their best!... there was a tradgic misfortune that happened the night before Kiwi Punch's Punky Reggae Party 2 show, forcing the band to break up due to complications we shouldn't get into lol....
Now with Vinnie da brix on the pots and pans, and Rob Pantalone back on the bass guitar, and a few new switch-ups, Kiwi Punch has been practicing and preparing for upcoming shows! If you need a band, send us a message with details for the show and we'll glady get back to you a.s.a.p.!
