kiyo is a laptop electronics music project....
I started computer based music production in 1998. I am creating "Warm Noise" by elaborate sound processing.
Kiyoshi Ono is the man behind the soft electronic landscapes that are Kiyo. Born July 5, 1966, in Japan, Kiyoshi's early inspirations were new wave and punk rock along with the strange world of director David Lynch. His first release was one track under Kiyoshi's proper name on Merck's 2000 collection Aurora. In 2002 a mysterious package arrived at the door of Schematic Records with a demo inside and the message "Enjoy warm music from Japan." It was Kiyo, and Schematic was so impressed that the label included two of the tracks on its 2003 Well Suited for General-Purpose Audio Work compilation. The same year the label released Kiyo's full-length debut, Chaotech Odd Echo.

"This record was composed by musicians residing on either side of the international date line, it sits somewhere between the realms of biological chaos and structural reason, and yet it plays like a single contiguous and moody soundtrack. It doesn't feel like a talent show, instead each song seems to narrate a different chapter from the same story, never straying to far from the central theme. Maybe it's because the artists being remixed, kiyo and sabi, make such idiographic, personalized music that it may be difficult to not bear their watermarks in the reconstruction process. Or maybe it's that you can remix a song in two ways: you can attempt to improve upon the song, or you can allow the song to improve upon you. Maybe? Either way, this is some new and improved cinema for the ears. "
Pieces of music from 1998-2001, have been compiled and re-masterized.
A few pieces from it had been selected as featured songs at mp3.com, and one of the song called "Half Japanese" was recorded 1600/days downloads.
Follow in the time of techno movements, IDM, and Breakbeat-style's foot steps, there is a feel of kiyo's nature in the album.

An album that is made full use of Max/MSP and Reaktor etc..., and has been digitally sound-processed.
It is Noisy but Warm..., Experimental but Pop....
This album turn out to be much closer to the kiyo's latest theme of music,
"Warm Noise" than the previous album, "Classics".

A package arrived at the doorstep bearing the message "Enjoy warm noise from Japan". Contained within was the music of the newest addition to the Schematic family. Kiyo has arrived fully formed, after only one compilation track on Miami's Merck Records and two compilation tracks on Schematic's "Well-Suited for General-Purpose Audio Work". Hailing from Japan, Kiyo is one Kiyoshi Ono and his debut album, Chaotech Odd Echo is a peaceful foray into the same territory as Schematic's celebrated Lilly Of the Valley, modernized with the same precision and angle that the label flaunts today. Chaotech is rare in that it achieves tranquility without the use of the somber and sedentary. Straddling the region between Takeshi Muto's rhythm experimentation, Delarosa and Asora's melodicism, and Dino Felipe's gritty interference, Chaotech Odd Echo will be a welcome addition to the collections of fans of the former, who are looking for a few more melodies, and for those who have been sidetracked by Schematic's recent venture into music for the severely distracted. Enjoy warm noise from Schematic.
