Kizzle has been making music for the past decade. It started for him in his house, learning to compose and play the piano and guitar from his dad, whom was in many classic rock groups. Once in high school, he was introduced to freestyling and writing rap lyrics by his long-time friend, Nate aka Nate The Greatest. Kizzle believes that persistence is what separates a hobby from a career. “Anything worth your time, will take time” he explains, “wether it be with Cryptik Mindz as a group, or myself as a solo artist, this is a careful investment that we take seriously.”
Influenced by several genre's of music from Classical, Spanish Guitar, Smooth Jazz, as well as Middle-Eastern sounds - all the way to the more recent Gangsta Rap, Hyphy beats and flows of the Mid-West, as well as several artists out of both coastal Hip-Hop and Dirty South music scenes, Kizzle has found liberation from labels and genres while there are still those that choose to label (or limit) the capabilities of his musical work.
When he was 13, his trailer home in Mesquite, TX - eastside suburb of Dallas, burnt to the ground, consuming more than 95% of all valuables, memiors, and for Kizzle, his "identity". "During my middle-school years, I was actually becoming somewhat popular and really coming out of my shell. That moment was one of the most heart-wrenching experiences of my entire life. I watched everything I thought I was, consumed in flames." After a struggling recovery, his family decided to move to Indiana, where he would suffer from depression until finding his place in Cryptik Mindz.
After meeting Nate and being introduced to his brother, David aka Dayo The Extremist, he was adopted into their rap group, Cryptik Mindz. The journey of the group began with replication of horrorcore and underground rap groups and artists styles and techniques, as well as understanding beat and instrumental production at grassroots. The final stages of this beginning phase can be seen in previous low-budget and short-run albums such as "Mr. Halloween: Time of Year" and "Cryptik Mindz - Summer Meltdown Mix". Summer of 2006 would leave Cryptik Mindz facing a turn of events that would put Kizzle back in his hometown of Dallas, TX for the following year and a half.
"This was a point in my life, I really wanted to see myself take charge of my own life and get on my feet with the support of my family close-by and to have that guidence if I needed it" says Kizzle. "I had saved up my money and was going to return back to Indiana just 6 months after being in Texas" he continues, "but I was living out of my car and had a run-in with the police and that just complicated everything".
Once legal issues were worked out, Kizzle found himself back in Indiana with Cryptik Mindz and entering a new phase in the group, his life, and music in general. As a group and solo artists, they began pushing a new style and sound, as well as new messages within the lyrics.
Listeners enjoy the catchy tunes and choruses that are displayed in several of his tracks. Smooth deliveries and potent lyrics are just a few of the elements that Kizzle uses to create his desirable style, which can often times bend or perhaps better said, blend genres and techniques. He is aparently unafraid of putting himself in positions to sing, harmonize or even bring grunge singing to the table of vocal options. As a producer, he tends to lean towards West coast/Dirty South/Mid-west styles, once again, blending and merging techniques or beat patterns to create a kind of personalized fusion hip-hop sound. However it is worth mentioning that he produces outside of rap and hip-hop feilds as well. Thus creating even further versatility in composing.
Kizzle, "The Konqueror", has made many sacrifices in his life and plans to continue sacrificing until he accomplishes what he feels is his destiny: World Domination... but if that doesn't work out, then achieving a Hall of Fame status in music would be equally rewarding. The young man has already established a huge support system including his family, friends, and of course all of the fans that have helped to shape his dream into a reality.
"I hope that listeners feel me through my work. I hope that they are impressed, more than turned off by how crazy I get and how different I approach music and the Industry, altogether. My songs are my feelings and emotions. I just want to know that other people out there can relate." - Kizzle: The Konqueror
