Keith Kailian from York, PA is a student of prewar (WW2) acoustic blues in both the Piedmont and Delta styles. Using instruments from the period, Keith enjoys performing material from the original masters including Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Blind Willie McTell and Blind Blake. National Tricone guitars, slide and 12 string are utilized to recreate the sound of the Golden Age of acoustic blues.
Keith has learned through the teachings of several contemporary players who have had direct access to the original masters who were still alive and rediscovered in the 60’s acoustic blues revival. He and a handful of others strive to carry on this rich heritage of uniquely American roots music.
Keith has released his first demo album entitled “Blues from the Roots” in 2007 and has been booked to open for concerts sponsored by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society.
