THE STORY SO FAR:
KK Holiday formed in November of 2004. Casey and Travis had been in previous bands together. Casey had met Airik searching via internet. Casey and Airik clicked instantly simply because they have the same taste in music and way of living. Airik had thought up the idea of Greg Spagnolo as the drummer. "I thought it would be impossible to get Greg added to the lineup, but he really enjoyed the sound we were creating." proclaims bassist Airik Denton. The lineup was complete.
For only being a band for less than a year, KK Holiday has played shows with such great bands as The Receiving End Of Sirens, A Thorn For Every Heart, Halifax, The Matches, Plain White T's, Roses Are Red, Adelphi, And Self Against City.
From the start-stop riffing and multi-note licks that drive the screaming to the ringing guitars and melancholy rhythm, KK Holiday proclaims conviction, versatility and love for many types of music. Vail's affection for singer/songwriters like Keith Buckley (every time i die) and Anthony Green(circa survive) contrasts with guitarist Casey Hill's penchant for head bangers like The Bled and The Receiving End of Sirens. And everyone's mutual interest in legends likes The Beatles and The Used to mix the best of both worlds.
Such devotion has earned KK Holiday a large and loyal following. Maybe the fans identify with Vail's sincerity, perhaps they're magnetized by the way the group's songs are simultaneously heavy and euphoric or impressed that the band members enjoy hanging out with their fans after their concerts. Whatever the reason, they're out there and their devotion is undeniable.
