Vielleicht sollte man die Leute informieren, dass es sich bei Maâllem Mokhtar Gania um den angesehensten und berühmtesten Gnaur-Trance-Heilkult Musiker Marokkos handelt, der mit Leuten wie Bill Laswell, Pharao Sanders, Peter Brötzmann, Hamid Drake gespielt hat und gerade aus Polen kommt wo er mit den bekanntesten Jazzerndes Landes unterwegs ist.
In seiner Familie gab es schon damals in Essaouira Konzerte mit Jimi Hendrix und Carlos Santana und auch Don Cherry (auf LPs veröffentlicht).
Wie wir alle wissen hat auch Brian Jones schon die Stones auf diese Musik aufmerksam gemacht. Eine erst kürzlich in Dänemark erschiene Doppel-CD gilt als neueste Meilenstein in der Entwicklung des traditionellen Gnawaspiels.
