Influences
Frank London, Chava Alberstein, Di Naye Kapelye, Dave Tarras, Brave Old World, early 1900s klezmer, contemporary klezmer, swing jazz, Barry Sisters, Andrews Sisters, Kocani Orkestar, Taraf de Haidouks, Savina Yannatou, Anouar Brahem, Bratsch, Jacques Brel, Ramses Shaffy, Django Reinhardt, Charles Mingus, Astor Piazzolla, Antonio Vivaldi.
Mazzeltov, the Netherlands' no. 1 yiddish and klezmer ensemble, bring a variety of catchy songs and spiced instrumentals. They can sound like an 1880s klezmer group, a 1930s theater ensemble, a 1950s jazzband-with-singer, a 1980s Turkish band, a 2000s musical orchestra. At all times, the ever vibrating voice of Rolinha Kross gives the music emotion, power and humour. Jazz improvisations appear where you would never expect them, an ud occasionaly gives the music an oriental touch, strong rhythms make you want to dance.
This is an Amsterdam melting pot of Yiddish music and songs with many tasty herbs and spices!
