DIY Femme Fest is a multi-gendered collaborative effort made up of punks, radicals, writers and grrls of different backgrounds but with the strong belief that patriarchy should be abolished and gender equality should be upheld.
We celebrate and rejoice female participation within the DIY hc/punk community and its various activities. It is also an effort to show women empowerment within the community itself as females are often labeled as passive supporters of the DIY hc/punk scene.
We aim to create a safe space for grrls apart from promoting hc/punk and DIY, at the same time stimulating discussion and awareness of the many issues and situations that affects both men and women in our patriarchal society.
We are firm believers in equality and we believe that feminism is non-exclusive; people of all genders can identify as feminist. We also oppose any form of oppression, as we believe that every living being has a right to their existence.

The events includes picnics, workshops (to share knowledge with each other about issues related to feminism and also the DIY culture itself), gigs etc.
We are a group of people, multi gendered, who are active in the DIY punk rock community; organizing gigs, writing zines, running record labels and playing in bands.
We want to combat sexism and inequality in the DIY punk community and the world beyond. And we hope to accomplish this while setting a fun example, empowering the resistance, celebrating the involvement of women within the DIY community and inspiring others!
