Influences

Disturbing thoughts, visions and nightmares...

As for musical indulgences...

Angelo Badalementi, Aphrodites Child, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Basil Poledouris, Blue Öyster Cult, Book Of Hours, Bruno Nicolai, Camel, Candlemass, Carcass, Christopher Young, Cornelis Vreeswijk, Danny Elfman, Das Ich, Dead Can Dance, Death, Deep Purple, Dissection, Dog Fashion Disco, Emperor, Ennio Morricone, Fabio Frizzi, Fields of the Nephilim, Jethro Tull, Goblin, Katatonia, Kate Bush, Keith Emerson, King Crimson, King Diamond, Limbonic Art, Ludovico Einaudi, Mercyful Fate, Metallica, New Model Army, Opeth, Philip Glass, Pink Floyd, Redemption, Rick Wakeman, Rush, Scar Symmetry, Skinny Puppy, Slayer, Strapping Young Lad, Symphony X, The Cure, The Doors, Tool, Uriah Heep, Wojciech Kilar, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zbigniew Preisner, Änglagård

Sounds Like
"There are no songs, no movements, just connecting pieces, drifting in very solid form and creating in the listener deep reflection and de-composure and what strikes me as seriously weird is though these pieces were recorded in various phases through a decade it all fits together very well. If you’re looking for something mournful yet richly picturesque I recommend this unreservedly."
/Mick Mercer (Live Journal)

"Klingwall's music has that cinematic flair; it's evocative and dramatic, but also pithy..."
/Kevin Filan (Starvox)

"Mr. Klingwall is, in my opinion, finely attuned with the inner workings of our scared little inner souls"
/ZG (Vilenoise)

COMPOSER/KEYBOARDIST/SOUNDARTIST

The music of Swedish composer Fredrik Klingwall comes with the dynamics of forceful apocalyptic rhythms and a sweeping uneasy kind of bizarre beauty.

For over a decade Fredrik has been creating music that combines neoclassical and industrial dark ambient voids with emotion and drama, bringing you the soundtrack of your nightmares.

Currently active in the following bands: Anima Morte, ChansoNoir, Flagellation, Loch Vostok, Machinery, Rising Shadows.

[2009] - WORKS OF WOE: a pianocollection of nine tracks, each one being a musical gestalt influenced of a poem by Edgar Allan Poe.

[2008] - THE RESILIENCE: 13 tracks of dark and haunting neoclassical music. Composer Fredrik Klingwall continues his journey through the horror and dissonance, could this be the perfect soundtrack to your nightmares?

[2007] - CHRONICLES IN DECAY: A collection of Swedish composer Fredrik Klingwall's work over the last decade (1997-2007). From the very first darkwave demos to later filmmusic scores, alongside lots of rare and unreleased songs. With a strong leaning towards the cinematic and neoclassical, his music is dark, eerie and uneasy but with a beautiful touch.

Ever heard a single violinist sound like 12?

Recently, I added a new song to my music player called, "Always" which might be one of the best songs I've written so far. Tthe chorus was scored for an entire violin section, however, in studio, I had one violinist, Jan "Yes I Can" Sullins. I asked her to single handedly create the sound of a "Hollywood style" string section. This is almost like telling someone, "Please jump rope one handed 10 times while monkeys nip at your feet."

Lucky for me, Jan worked some magic and now you can hear it for yourself. So can you do me a favor? For the sake of Jan and her "can do" attitude, please check out "Always," track 1 in my music player. It's from my upcoming album, "Awakening," which will be released June 16th. Better yet, add it to your playlist if you like it.

Thanks and have fun!

Marc

P.S. Have you hugged a violinist today?

Hahahaha well join the club dear... but it´s great to have always lots of things to do :D

Yes working as always and traveling whenever I can... Or at work or just to relax and recharge.. now I´m preparing to go to Helsinki the first week of June like usually but this year I think to return there in September too, to the Nightwish´s and Apocalyptica concert... it depends the money because the crisis arrived here and the economics is a big mess in Portugal....

Any new sound?????
