KLT is one of the many musical arms of Kansas City crew, the Grunt Galaxy. Along with the mothership group, Trump Dawgs, the angry little brother, Altimatic, and the production arm, Gruntwork, KLT seeks to reinvent the way modern music is heard. Constructed as the brainchild of Kansas City song writer, producer, guitarist, singer, Kenny Carter, KLT sought to bring to life the mammoth musical offering, KLT Presents...Butch! The Butch CD is the first in a trilogy of albums that tell the tale of a comic book super-hero that Carter invented. The main character, Butch, is an orphaned stick figure from a planet called Grunt, which is the center of a galaxy called the Interplanetary Coalition of Grunt. Then, one day, Butch is rescued from the bowels of the streets and is transformed into a big, black mass of muscle with giant hands that can crush just about anything on the planet. Over time, he becomes the patron saint of the Grunt Galaxy, because he stumbles upon saving the world all of the time.
Produced as a Gruntwork Production, the CD introduces the world to the Grunt Galaxy's vision of melding varying musical styles into a unique concoction that they affectionately call "New American Music." Blending pop, rock, hip-hop, funk, and even jazz and experimental flavors the Butch CD is built to take the listener on a ride through a roller coaster ride of The Grunt Galaxy's musings and into a musical landscape that seems, oh so familiar yet looks like nothing that has been seen or heard before.
