InfluencesNach einigen musiktherapeutischen Sitzungen in diversen Wiener Kaffeehäusern und sonstigen dunklen Spelunken beschlossen 3 Wiener Sound-Fetischisten im Jänner 2007 eine Abendveranstaltung (Clöb) zu konzeptionieren, die als Basis für experimentelle Wellen und Frequenzen im Fahrwasser von Ambient, Noise, und elektro-akustischer Musik mit einem Hauptohrenwerk auf Live- bzw. Improvisationssituationen dienen sollte.

Am Beginn stand - neben der Namensfindung - die Frage: wie lässt sich Klub Moozak definieren bzw. womit lässt es sich assoziieren. Ein peitschender Gehirnsturm mit ungefähr 10 Beaufort förderte folgende Begrifflichkeiten zutage und sorgte für eine Überschwemmung von ufernahen Gebieten:

after a few music-therapeutical sessions at various viennese cafe's and other dark and dirty gin mills, 3 sound fetishists from vienna decided in january of 2007 to found a monthly club night, which should serve as a public basis for experimental sounds in the fields of ambient, noise and electro-acoustic music with a focus on live- and improvised situations.

at the beginning - beside the search for a name for our club - one essential question emerged: how is klub moozak defined and with what can it be associated. a severe brain storm of more than 8 beaufort unearthed the following concepts and lead to a flash flood of waterside regions:

   About klub moozak
KLUB MOOZAK ist nicht nur ein Ort der extremen Sounds, sondern genauso physische Basis für jene, die sich mehr erwarten von einem Club-Abend als Djs und interessante Menschen. Wir wollen stilistische Selbstbeschränkungen ablegen und durch ein liturgisch-rituelles Vermitteln von Wellen und Frequenzen Mauern niederreissen, die sonst den Genuss der sonoren Vielfalt verhindern. KLUB MOOZAK ist auch ein Ort des Experiments, der Installation und der Partizipation.

KLUB MOOZAK is not only a place for extreme sounds but just as well a physical basis for those who expect more of an evening at a nightclub than just dj's and beautiful people. we want to abandon stylistic self-restrictions and break down walls - which otherwise disallow the pleasure of sonorical variety - through a liturgical-ritual way of communication with different forms of waves and frequencies. KLUB MOOZAK is also a place for experimentation, installing and participation.
