Motion is a monthly dance night located at 1009 E Union Street (Lower Level) in Seattle, Washington.
Motion occurs every 1st Thursday of the month, with doors opening at 9pm and remaining open until at least 2am.
The Mercury is a 21+ club with a full (cash only) bar, dance floor, seating and pool room. Please have your ID to show the doorgirl! And don't forget to tip the volunteer staff!
Motion concentrates mostly on Sythpop, Futurepop, and Electro genres of music. All the DJs are very friendly and love taking requests. Of course, we can't play them all, but we try to get them in.
THE DJs:
Cabana-Bot: This synthpop kid also loves electro and new wave. Cabana-Bot has spun in Phoenix, Arizona and has been part of the Seattle "scene" for several years.
Kaosqueen: The only DJ in town corrupting our youth as her day job, Kaosqueen loves spinning a variety of goth-industrial subgenres. Still recovering from her youthfull days as a New Waver, this girl often throws down 80's into her sets.
DJ MachWave: Likes to spin both a mix of futurepop and synthpop tracks, but leans more toward the modern side of the genre. He doesn't let very many people know, but his real passion for music is that bubblegum dance crap like Aqua. MachWave got started in New England and continues to travel for DJ gigs.
Dear Motion... many thanks for allowing me to introduce You to the music of ALIEN SKIN! Please help yourself to some free downloads from my page as well. And may you create a great New Year!
Congratulations to bloodengel and staff for putting on such a great show and helping to plan the after party! And thank you to everyone who came down the SAKE afterparty at the Merc! It was lovely to see everyone out having a good time and on a Thursday.
myspace's code sucks - i usually use mygen. co. uk to edit profiles without completely redoing them (like i usually do..heh) their code works pretty flawlessly. i hate trying to css code myspace completely from scratch because the site's design is so messy.
