Try the BEST MySpace Editor and MySpace Backgrounds at MySpace Toolbox! "What is a Kluckin Film?" Thought you’d never ask! Kluckin Films is a small and upcoming video production company located in the severed heart of Myrtle Beach, SC whose main focus, but not limited to, is the horror genre of movie making. Our motto at Kluckin Films is If it moves, splatter it with fake blood. Kluckin Films was founded in 1999 by a small group of close-knit friends, who actually still talk to each other today. The founding members of Kluckin Films are still together today. WE ARE - DWAYNE KING,WENDELL SMITH, KANDI RANSON AND LEAH CARROLL MYERS . Founder: Dwayne King North Carolina native is a filmmaker, editor, cab driver, wrestling fan and horror fanatic. Co-Founding Member: Wendell Smith is an actor and writer. Member: Kandi Ranson is an actress, web master, publicist, casting director, PA, Asst Director at times, Dwayne King's fiancé' and much more. Member: Leah Carroll Myers is an actress, makeup artist and special FX artist. We are still able to sit in the same room today and it never fails that we end up re-enacting our favorite horror scenes on each other, or just blurting out lines from movies we have made. Our first film titled "Pizzaguy" (1999) has achieved cult status in and around the around Grand Strand. It was written, shot and edited in 24 hours using a Hi-8, two VCRs and a Sony Play station for the audio track. At that time it was truly guerilla film-making at its best. In 2002, Kluckin Films steps up to the plate again, swings and scored when their 2ND film Piggy, which won the Rob Zombie Short Horror Film Contest, put on by local radio station 101.7 WKZQ. Piggy beat out 48 other films and was shown at a local concert in front of about a thousand concert-goers. After that great moment in history happened, of course, the filmmakers heads blew up like a shuttle coming back into orbit. So they split up (Go figure, HUH!) But Kluckin Films kept gushing along, like a bad knife wound to the neck, by adding such talents as Scott L. Collins (Writer, Producer, and Director), Dustin Ivey (Actor, Writer and Special Effects Supervisor). Picking up some great on-screen talent like Jonice Uebelacker, the star of Piggy ...2. Patrick Best, member of a local rock band Live Like Murder. Great country music writer, and star of Kluckin Films: Welcome to Blood Beach, Jimmy Mack. Last but not least Jody Tyson, star of the films Bloodlust, Box 13, and the uncompleted Berserker. Without whom we would all be looking at a blank screen right now! In 2003 and 2004 Kluckin Films worked hard to put together their first collection of short horror films, which can be seen in all their blood and gore on our Nightmares DVD. Nightmares is also loaded with all kinds of extras and goodies like music videos! As well as behind the scene clips and uncompleted films, which will happen from time to time when you are working on a low budget horror film with no budget at all. It still costs money to splatter blood across the scene no matter if the fake blood is only made up of chocolate milk, Red food coloring and seven drops of blue food coloring (Thanks Disney!) Fast forward to 2006! Now that heads of Kluckin Films founders Dwayne King and Wendell Smith have finally deflated and they now agree to co-exist on the same planet Kluckin Films will continue to pump out the gruesome blood and gore that we have all come to know and love. Now along with Scott L. Collins, Kandi Ranson and Leah Carroll Myers. They will all strive to put out great stories that entertain and are designed to scare the fur off of small animals. Extatic with the release of their first feature film project, in it's entirety on Nov. 06, 2007 World Wide!! Titled "Kill Syndrome" (2007) Kluckin Films is looking to the future and planning a great 2008! http://www.kluckinfilms.com So the next time you pop in a DVD of your favorite horror film just remember: Just south of the North Carolina boarder, along the Grand Strand there is a small group of film-makers. More than likely stranded out in the middle of nowhere, out of gas, and covered in fake blood; working their hardest trying to achieve the same damn things on a ten dollar budget that Hollywood does with a hundred million dollar budget!     I found this inspiring;

    "A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral."
    ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

    Everyone seems surrounded by rocks...would be cool to see some awesome architecture come out of it all! :)

    Hope everything is going well there,
    Karen :)

    This spoke to me today;

    "Real obstacles don't take you in circles. They can be overcome. Invented ones are like a maze." ~ Barbara Sher

    So, I suppose we have to sort through what is a real obstacle and what is imagined before we can look at tackling it. I feel like that just simplified everything for me!

    I hope you are overcoming the true obstacles in your way!
    Karen :)

    I noticed under "birthdays" from today, there was a man named Karl Von Clausewitz who was a soldier born today in 1780. I am always amazed when quotes from hundreds of years ago still hold up even today;

    "Pursue one great decisive aim with force and determination."

    I think we are all just striving to multi-task our days that it can be difficult to really focus our work towards an effort that is a passion of ours. But I suppose there comes a wonderful reward just by simply diving into what really sparks our interest.

    I hope you are finding the time in the craziness of life to explore what you are truly passionate about!
