I don't know what it is but it totally freaks me out and I'm so glad I was not born then.....The first song I ever wrote was a love song when I was nine; I made up the instrumentals on the piano and called my best friend Lauren on the phone to harmonize the chorus with me. ....I never wear matching socks…believe me people notice more than you'd think ....I'm an optimistic person and nothing really embarrasses me....I'm a morning person....I'll believe almost anything anyone says because I don't expect people to lie to me....I try to stay as grounded as possible....I hate not having my toenails painted, but can never decided on a color, my fingers will never match my toes.....Although I wear my hair straight most of the time, believe it or not it is naturally curly; I was once asked if I had dread locks. ....The only thing that calms me down when I'm stressed is to belt out some Christina Aguilera ....I love wearing a sweatshirt and yoga pants… comfortable is the key to happiness....I hate seltzer water....Math is probably my least favorite subject....My favorite city is New York...so far....Music makes me happier than anything in the world ....Im that girl who laughs until she cries....I love to dress up and look nice, but would pick jeans and a t-shirt over a dress any day ....I'm fond of road trips, I could go anywhere with fun people and a good cd....I would never betray my friends....I have amazing parents and couldn't do any of this stuff without them....I have two older brothers, two older step-brothers and an older step-sister....I think that having fun and laughing are the best things people can do for themselves....I like to live life to its fullest ....I'd pick almond butter over peanut butter anyday ....When I can't sleep I write songs....I could watch YouTube videos for hours…it's an addiction....I'm afraid of bugs but I absolutely REFUSE to kill one....My favorite color(s) is purple, blue, and green…see I can never decide....BTW…….. Katelyn Rose is the winner of the first season of YOBI.tv and Myspace’s “Take the Stage” contest and the newest protégé of world-renowned music manager Johnny Wright. She will soon begin a life-changing journey as she enters music industry boot camp at Wright’s Florida compound and moves closer to realizing her dreams of being the world’s next pop sensation.
Rose grew up in the Philadelphia suburb of West Chester, Pennsylvania, where her music career began at the age of 11. An insightful choir teacher noticed her talent during her sixth grade fall concert performance of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” and suggested that her parents put her into vocal and piano lessons. Rose was bitten by the entertainment bug, and she has never looked back.
Throughout high school and while attending college at West Chester University, Rose continued to perform and create music, placing in the top five singers in the 2008 International Model and Talent Association conference, representing the United States in the 2010/2011 Avon Voices International Talent Search and receiving radio play for her original song “Skills.”
Upon winning the “Take the Stage” competition, Katelyn said, “I am so thankful and blessed to have had this opportunity, and it has changed my life. I could not be happier, and I am so excited and determined to work hard and continue this dream.”
