I enjoy reading and visiting family. I also enjoy traveling. Last year, I spent a week in a penthouse in Las vegas. I also spent 5 days cruising to Mexico. This year, I took a 4 day trip to the Grand Canyon. I will soon be enjoying 10 days on a cruiseship going from Van Couver to Alaska and then to Los Angeles, via San Francisco. It should be a lot of fun as six of us are traveling together.
Movies
I prefer action movies. Lots of action and stuff. I like Steven Segal movies (even though I don't care much for him, personally). Comedies are good as long as they don't descend into slapstick. Jackie Chan mixes a lot of action with comedy, so I try to see all his movies.
Television
I didn't watch television for many years, but now enjoy several series. I watch Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Crossing Jordan, The District, Las Vegas, House and some of the CSI series. When I can stay up for it, I watch The Pretender as I didn't get a chance to see it the first time around.
Books
I have several authors that I really like. I read the 'Bourne' series and the Harry Potter series. I really like anything by Janet Evanovich, Kay Hooper, Nora Roberts, Iris Johansen, Mary-Anne Tirone Smith, Linda Lael Miller, Fern Michaels, Sandra Brown and Debbie Macomber.
Heroes
My parents were my greatest heroes. My dad was a hardworking man who provided well for his family. We never went hungry, even when we couldn't afford every thing we wanted (hee-hee). He kept us clothed and fed and sent us to camp every summer. My mom was the glue that kept everything together and working like it should. I never once heard them argue. They "discussed" things behind a closed door and then presented a united front. Mother cooked for us every day and we all sat down to dinner together. They took us to church every Sunday and Wednesday and practiced what they preached.
About me: First, I'm a mother and a grandmother. I used to be a computer nerd, but haven't kept up with the latest technology. I'm not as active as I used to be, but get around in my power chair just fine.
