Right now I'm doing a few solo concerts, but I do call in a few friends to help me out on the larger venues. I'm enjoying the intimacy and freedom of doing solo gigs. It's been really fun to get back into playing again, because I've been a record producer for so many years; usuallly stuck on the other side of the glass in a recording studio. I think I am having a mid-life epiphany. Whatever it is, I hope I never stop!
Here is a nice thought I just heard, "imagination equips us to perceive reality before it's fully materialized." Now imagine that!
I like all kinds of music; from local island favorites to rock, jazz, acoustic, r&b, and much, much more.
Ever since I've been on myspace, my eyes have been opened to new and refreshing textures of music from artists around the world who I never would have heard before. I love the energy, the passion, the fire, the commitment and dedication, and the savvy to interface with other likeminded people on the internet. What a wonderful tool for self-expression. Bravo to all my new found friends.
This brand new CD is my first commercial, secular release. I write a lot of songs, but chose to do a Hawaiian CD for my debut. It is a self-titled CD that contains twenty (20) original compositions (I tried to put more songs in but there wasn't enough room). The coolest part is that it is truly a solo effort; I played all the instruments, sang all the lead and background vocals, and even engineered and mixed the project.
I am currently working on another project that will take me more mainstream, featuring my contemporary, r&b, acoustic songs.
