Kamala

Formed in 2003 in São Paulo / Brazil, KAMALA soon began playing shows in the region and creating a reputation based on the excitement and vigor of the presentations shown on stage. The natural evolution led to the recording of the Demo "Corrosive", released in November 2005.
The five tracks shown in the demo received praise from the public and the media, opening more doors to the band. The beginning of 2007 marked the stabilization of the group formation, with the return of drummer Nicolas Andrade. That’s when Ricardo Piccoli, a leading name among producers specialized in Heavy Metal in Brazil came into the scene. Piccoli saw the potential in KAMALA, and between June and September 2007, he produced, mixed and mastered the debut album in his studio, also located in Campinas.
With a total of 14 tracks, including five in the demo (all reformulations), the CD shows the KAMALA in its essence: young musicians bursting with vigor, fury and creativity through Metal of the highest quality, with roots in Thrash Metal and looking to the future.
The amazing artwork of the booklet, created by designer Luiz Felipe Moura (Newasko Design), is inspired by Hinduism and based on the band's name (Kamala is a Hindu goddess). The care with the presentation of the complete disc package shows the caprice and professionalism of the band. Released in late 2007 in partnership with Overload Records, the self-titled album garnered great success for the band and received much praise from the specialized media.
In early 2009 guitarist Andreas Dehn joins the band after the departure of Ralph de Migotto. Andreas arrives to strengthen the team by putting the finishing touches on the songs on second album called "Fractal". Again produced by Ricardo Piccoli and art in the hands of Luiz Felipe Moura (Newasko Desing).
Released by Free Mind Records, the album won praise from the public and specialized media, considering KAMALA a surprising, creative and daring group. Containing 11 tracks of pure weight, aggressiveness and refined melodies, "Fractal" shows the band in a more mature way and with more personality, standing out even more in the scene.
In August 2010, bassist Adriano Martins decides to leave the band and the band invited their producer of two albums, Ricardo Piccoli as the new bassist for the band. Piccoli was only for a few months in the band and, to replace him, bassist Andrew Rudge (who had played with Andreas in another band called Soulriver) joined the band. In late 2011 the band finished the third studio album, called "The Deadly Seven Chakras".
Again there was a change with bass players when the band realized that Andrew could not devote 100% to the band and therefore chose again to look for a new bassist, so Diego Valente, who played in the band Venejer (Miami / USA) for 4 years came into play. Currently the band is rehearsing for their shows supporting the album "The Deadly SevenChakras", released in May 2012 by MS Metal Records. The material was again produced by Ricardo Piccoli and Luiz Moura was responsible for the art.
