Knightrider começou em março de 2003, com a proposta de fazer um Thrash/Heavy metal, agressivo e brutal, com duetos de guitarra melódicos. Em sua formação inicial estavam os fundadores Val “Fly” Oliveira (ex-Dead Shadows, Azrael, Rapezevah) e Alfred Jagersbacher, vocal e lead guitar, respectivamente. Desde o inicio, a idéia era unir as palhetadas ferozes de Jon Schaeffer (Iced Earth), os duetos melódicos do Iron Maiden e Judas Priest aliado ao peso de bandas como Testament (fase The Gathering), Death, Destruction , Annihilator, etc.
Juntaram-se à banda Liederson (bass), João Paulo (guitar) e Anadyll Jr (ex-Tharsis, Headhunter D.C, Inherit, Animus Necandi, Templarius, etc... drums). Com essa formação a banda se apresenta em diversos eventos em Salvador e interior da Bahia, sempre recebendo boa receptividade. O publico recebeu a banda de braços abertos, devido a mescla de agressividade e melodia que a banda irradiava de suas composições.
Após alguns shows, a banda entrou em estúdio para produzir e gravar seu primeiro Cd demo, chamada "War". Gravada em fevereiro de 2004,no estúdio Caverna do Som, com supervisão do Irmão Carlos, com capa pintada e editada pelo vocalista da banda, teve uma boa repercussão, recebendo bons comentários tanto no Brasil como do exterior.
Após mais alguns eventos, Anadyll Jr deixa a banda, sendo substituído por Bruno Queiroz, sendo seguido por Liederson. Entra Rafael “Monstro” Santiago (Dead Shadows, Rapezavah) temporariamente como baixista, cedendo lugar a André Pires como substituto. Meses depois sai João Paulo, após um grandioso evento no interior da Bahia, o Halloween Sabbath, na cidade de Pilar, cede o posto à Caio Vinicius (ex-Nothing to Declare, Doykod...).
Voltando a Salvador, esta formação se apresenta no já tradicional e reconhecido evento Palco do Rock, realizado na praia de Piatã de Salvador, durante o Carnaval em 2006. Como curiosidade, a banda é entrevistada pela maior emissora de TV do Brasil, tendo trecho de sua apresentação veiculada dias depois.
Mais alterações: Bruno Queiroz deixa a banda, e em seu lugar, Caio assume as baquetas. Na guitarra ocorre a entrada de Humberto Siciliano. Alguns shows depois Alfred se desliga da banda, e em seu lugar entra Miguel Matos. Com essa formação a banda se apresenta no Cajazeiras Metal Fest, sendo uma das atrações de destaque no ano de 2006, e tocando novamente em 2007, alem de duas edições do Maniac Metal Fest e Night of the Fire Rage. Gravam ainda em 2007 uma participação no Sleevers Tv (SP). Miguel Matos se desliga da banda, dando lugar a Tharcisio Vaz. Após alguns eventos a banda entra num longo recesso e encerra temporariamente as atividades.

Knightrider started in march of 2003 with the proposal of make a thrash/heavy metal aggressive and brutal, with melodical duets of guitars. The influences in this sound came from Heavy, Thrash and Death Metal bands from the 80..s and 90..s (Iron Maiden, Testament, Destruction, Iced Earth, Annihilator, Death, etc...
The band already had different formations since it..s creation. After some concerts, the band decided to produce and record the first demo, called "War".
With their debut work getting great comments, the band is becoming well known.
