'KnockanStockan began with a dream. At venues around Dublin, David Griffin, Peter Keogh and Enda Reilly's 'Primal Jelly Social Club' burst onto an ignorant and flailing music scene with new platforms for the city's hard-working bands. But more was needed.
In 2007, a small mini-camping festival and musical weekend in The Ballyknockan Inn offered 40 acts 'A musician's festival for musicians'. KnockanStockan was born.
In 2008, KnockanStockan returned: an alliance of passionate volunteers, blazing musical talents and a friendly farmer forged a 3-day festival to strike a blow against a profiteering music industry, with 3 stages and 100 acts, scooping that year's best small festival award.
Now... the legend continues. With 4 amazing stages, over 125 superb acts and 3 days of fantastic free camping and parking overlooking the gorgeous Blessington Lakes, as well as open mics, poetry, performance arts, cinema, tea parties, food vendors, chill-out areas and much more; all for €65, the festival run by musicians for music lovers has declared 2009 the year that "you're a festival"!
