KNOTHEAD'S story is one of ultimate triumph... Born from the ashes of a crippling methamphetamine addiction... KNOTHEAD has fought and clawed his way to sobriety... He believes that music saved his life and views his rhymes as his salvation and a way to educate. He also sees his rhymes as one of the major factors that has enabled him to successfully leave "the scene" and walking death behind... He now seeks to use his life esperience based rhymes as a way to make something, ANYTHING positive out of his time spent in that desperate, hellish world... KNOTHEAD compromises NOTHING in his music, because he fears the death of his music will launch him headlong into the abyss of addiction and despair once more... Daily... he struggles... A man with nothing to lose... he seems to have everything to gain...
With a move to Spokane, Washington for a fresh start late in 2005, KNOTHEAD has indeed started to gain... 2005 was a big year in establishing KNOTHEAD as a respected name regionally... Evidence of KNOTHEAD's possible crossover appeal surfaced in May of 2006, when KNOTHEAD did the impossible for an underground "horror" rapper, and his biggest underground hit to date at that time, "Stompin" was featured on 104.5FM (defunct) which was at the time Spokane's number one top 40 hip-hop/r&b station. It was a huge achievement for such an unrepentantly underground act as KNOTHEAD, to get such hardcore, abrasive, metal based content on mainstream hip-hop radio.
In October of 2006, with local and internet buzz reaching a fever-pitch, (and finally feeling ready) KNOTHEAD returned to the stage after a five year absence to satisfy public appetite for live performance, and absolutely no one was disappointed...
2007 saw KNOTHEAD continue to constantly perform live across the Pacific Northwest. Already hot locally, KNOTHEAD went inferno in May of 2007, when he again did the impossible for an underground "horror" rapper, achieving airplay on a SECOND mainstream broadcast radio station of different format, ROCK 94.5FM, (the number 1 hard rock/metal radio station in Spokane) after being discovered by on-air personality JP. KNOTHEAD entered the Rock 94.5 playlist with TWO tracks, and was a featured interview on JP's "LOCAL 945" program, which highlights the hottest local talent in the region. KNOTHEAD's first interview was so entertaining and popular amongst Rock 94.5 listeners that he is now frequently a subject of the segment.
KNOTHEAD continues to see the benefits of his "E-HUSTLE", as his words and music continue to permeate, catching new ears throughout the world, as internationally, dozens of new fans discover KNOTHEAD daily... 2007 also saw KNOTHEAD make the transition from regional powerhouse to national underground name. Overseas interest in KNOTHEAD exploded as well in 2007, as vocal supporters from the UK, Germany, Japan, China, and even Australia have discovered and begun to promote KNOTHEAD abroad.
2008 proved to be the year of the tour for KNOTHEAD as nationally touring artists began to tab KNOTHEAD for local support in the Northwest, exposing KNOTHEAD to hundreds and in some cases more than 1,000 new ears a night. KNOTHEAD, never a man to let opportunity go by, capitalized and walked out of each and every show with a large number of new fans and supporters, spreading the word and vibe of KNOTHEAD's unique brand of metal-laced hip-hop further, and finally putting a picture to match the music in the minds of hundreds of people in attendance already familiar with KNOTHEAD'S music, making his already strong status as a Pacific Northwest underground hip-hop heavyweight undisputable.
The fervent regional, national, and international demand for KNOTHEAD continues to build... The past is behind... The future beckons...
