We started playing together as a band in October 2007. I had been slowly but surely writing songs under the name Knots We Tie since moving down to London in March to simultaneously find direction and lose all sense of direction as far as public transport goes. Phil, Kath and then Tris came to join me and hence KWT Stage 2 commenced! We set about fleshing out songs that had been recorded as solo demos and searching for wonderous new sounds, borrowing each others instruments in a borrowed rehearsal space just off the horror of Oxford Street.
We started to play sets building from solo songs up to the band, gradually adding more band songs because it's far more fun. In the middle of February we went into the Bunker Studio in Shadwell for three days to record an 8-track record, which we're now in the middle of designing packaging for...Expect to see them at future gigs! Jacob
We're trying to get as many gigs as possible - if anyone puts on gigs please get in touch! Our email: knotswetie@gmail.com
hi knots we tie, thanks for the friendship ♥. i would love to review your ep in issue #2.. i'm moving house soon & won't have internet access for a few weeks, but will note you down & get in touch once i'm back online! thanks for getting in touch :)
My stumble across Knots We Tie was when I was training my mission for Mars 2020. We were running orbiting missions around the Earth at that time. We launched our rocket orbiter, during the orbit something went wrong with the ship, & it sent me and the rocket out of space miles and miles away from earth. 17 years went by, and I kept picking up radio waves around our universe. More like music, and it kept singing in folkloric rhythms. Knots We Tie was the name, so I followed back to earth. Therefore my stumble across KWT. -Alex
Hello Jacob and all, unfortunately i'll be out of town this weekend. Do play a blinder though and i'll check you out again soon. Also, let me know if you'd like to do another Tuesday.
Thank you all for a great set last night at Hidden Away. Wonderful CD too. Do come again. I'm in this band ... myspace. com/cocoslovers might be fun to get some shows together.
Hi, thank you very much for the comment! I was at the Cross King for the Fleeting Fanfare - I think I missed you though, had to rush off because of a broken table... Hopefully I'll catch you sometime in May! and thanks for the podcast..Those Wave pictures are great! glad to discover In Your Bass too. Maybe it's me but I hear a bit of Fanfarlo in your music ;) and it is a good thing indeed. Marie
Mate the new songs on your site are awsome and the artwork is also really original and thought provoking. I'm looking for someone to do artwork for my album cover at the moment and I've discovered that most self proclaimed "artists" can't actually paint or draw. If I had your talent with the brush my life would be much easier right now!
thanks, i was just scrolling through bands and ran into you guys....i find lots of bands that way...well keep on writing music and Im gunna start putting my music on myspace..ill let you know when it is up. =D
