When I was 19, I created You Should Be a Star as a service for aspiring songwriters and producers to receive objective feedback on their music. Since then, we've helped hundreds of people. For a small fee you can (and should) submit yours. Though I encourage you to read my story first:
Before I created You Should Be a Star, I traveled around the country and overseas on an internship with singer-songwriter Ryan Leslie. The above photo was taken somewhere in France, I think. Even though I no longer work directly under Ryan's company, we still hang out all the time to bounce ideas.
While I was interning for NextSelection, I scored a songwriting credit on Cassie's "Call U Out" song by being in the studio with her at the right time. Timing is always key in situations like this.
This photo was shot in 2006. I did it for fun, and partly because I had some money to blow for a professional photographer. I had just started my first company and was in the middle of learning about the music industry. I'm thankful for capturing this moment.
