About me:
"Know Your Heritage" is produced as a quiz show featuring various high schools in the Chicago area. Students answer historical and contemporary questions on various cultures and ethnic groups, such as Latinos, Asians, Irish, Polish, Native Americans, Italians and African Americans. The “Know Your Heritage” show also highlights ethnic themes and holidays, such as Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Chinese New Year, Cinco de Mayo, Columbus Day, St. Patrick's Day, and other holidays of major importance.
OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENT
"Know Your Heritage" has the official endorsement of the Chicago Board of Education and the Chicago Public High Schools.
PRIZES AND SCHOLARSHIPS
"Know Your Heritage" provides scholarships and major prize money to help student winners further their college educations. Over its 24-year history, more that $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded to high school students of all ethnic groups, who participate in this event, which is a valuable learning experience.
Other prizes include trophies, plaques, medals, apparel, interactive video games and an all expense paid trip to Disney World.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN HEALTHY COMPETITION
In its 28th season, "Know Your Heritage" is one of the few programs that promote positive images and provides worthwhile activities for our high school students by using an exciting quiz show setting.
The “Know Your Heritage” game show airs weekly on WPWR-TV, Channel 50
(formerly UPN) Saturdays at 11am.
