Thank you for all you do... I don't think that a lot of people realize how hard it must be for an artist of your intensity and creativity to sit still for a couple of hours and dedicate themselves to networking other artists and the artworld together... we all owe you a debt of gratitude!! =) Kiss El Popo for us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hanna's Weekends: Do I even need to attempt to explain what happens here? Ok, I will: Knoxville's BEST DANCE CLUB. Lower level plays hits from the 70's to current chart toppers. Upper level plays hip hop and dance music.
Its only like the best party that you've ever been to....and it happens EVERY Friday and Saturday night at Hanna's.

Mar 30 2008 11:56 PM

Host returns to First Friday with a myriad of events.

Jessica Ray will deliver us and all of Host into the Land of Idols and Miscreants.

When looking at Jessica’s work I didn’t get the feeling of a story being told, I got the feeling of a story being lived. The pages within her sketch books are not a representation of the characters inside her head. They are windows into a fantastic world in which they actually exist. At Host we’ve opened those windows wide and let the inhabitants of that world spill out into ours, so that we can all mingle in the Land of Idols and Miscreants.

Clint has set up the open source computers at Host so that we can bring you, Eclips, a Korean and American artist trade and gallery link. You can view the shows of Knoxville artists Karley Sullivan and Jennifer Franklin exhibiting at Yogiga in Korea and we’ll be filming the show here to send to Korea. After this first Friday the open source computer bank will be available for any Knoxville artist that has need of it.

Megalon Esquire will start the night off spinning the music that brings us all together. The Burning Itch will cure you of ear aids by delivering musical money shots in all our ear canals.

Jason Boardman, thats the guy that brings you the Pilot Light, has organized 24 HOUR NUCLEAR WAR.
24 Hr Nuclear War is a series of twenty-four live performances, scattered throughout Knoxville which will occur on April 4th, each performance lasting one hour and all taking the Sun Ra piece Nuclear War as reference material and inspiration. One or two such performances will take place at Host. you can get more info at, http://www.24hournuclearwar.com/

And finally the most praised and consistent performer of First Friday fame, free booze.

This is a lot of stuff for one night and I don’t think I’ll be sleeping so I’m keeping the doors open all night, bring your sleeping bags and your ghost stories.

See you Friday.

end transmission.
Dave

Mar 3 2008 10:02 PM

Hi, thanks a lot for being our friend we really appreciate it. I just wanted to let you know that we won't be sharing any new track until our current tracks have circulated a bit and we set the bar to 1,000 CD sales.

Our CD has 17 tracks, over an hour of music, has a professional screen printed color label with the track names right on the CD, a 30 day money back guarantee and only costs $5.00. Buying a CD will also get you a $6.00 rebate off our next album. We even allow you to make copies of it and sell them, same goes for our mp3's!!

You can listen to track samples and buy the CD here: http://www.cafepress.com/torturetoy.194986826

PS: We are also looking for a new guitarist and drummer since our last ones all recently died horrible and mysterious painful deaths. If you have any friends who would be into auditioning send them our way. We will give you $20.00 if it works out. And could you keep this comment up so maybe someone will see it? If you could tell your friends about us that would be sweet because word of mouth kicks the most ass. Thanks again for being our friend, you rock.
