The Back To The Hip Hop EP is getting great support and reviews from critics and major Hip Hop DJs and Tastemakers in the US and UK. Check out the TV advert.
Flipping the script from his other collaborative project, Ten Days Till, which saw placements in American Pie 6 Beta House, EA Sports NBA Live 07 and Paula Abdul's Hey Paula and which saw OD and Lifford sell thousands of copies of their independently released Get Them Hands Hi, OD Hunte now brings you K.O. and OD Hunte "Back to the Hip Hop". On this 4 track EP, we again see OD Hunte exercising his production skills but this time out providing sung vocal support to the prodigal 18 year old Swiss rapper K.O..
Born and raised in the city of Geneva, Switzerland to French and British parents, K.O. possesses a vocal and lyrical maturity way beyond his stated years. Citing his biggest influences as Lupe Fiasco and Method Man, amongst others, it's easy to see that the many years spent donning headphones and listening to America's finest wordsmiths while attending international school has shaped K.O.'s mastery of the Hip Hop art form in his short 3 years of rapping, and conveniently given him a US accent. With every song he records, K.O. delivers more potent word play in his quest for pen the perfect rhyme.
While "Back to the Hip Hop" with lead single "Blow Up" is a commercial pop hip hop collaborative effort, the rest of the EP effortlessly mixes old skool sounding elements with modern and futuristic production. The same production skills which has helped OD to place his tracks in high profile US media such as MTVs the Hills, Yo Mama, EA sports Fight Night Round 3, Pimp My Ride, My Sweet 16, Date My Mom, Yo Mama and has seen OD place tracks in literally scores of other international shows and work with acts such as Leona Lewis, Leela James, Unkle Jam, Leon Jean Marie and many others.
"Back to the Hip Hop" is the EP prelude to the album by the duo set for release in 2009.
