Attention Comrades! .. .. As all good party members know ‘KOBA’ was the preferred alias of Uncle Joe Stalin when he was a youthful, carefree and optimistic assassin in pre-communist Russia. ‘KOBA’ is also now the preferred alias of four non-moustachioed musicians from pre-communist Glasgow called: Paul (guitars/vocals); Steve (guitars/vocals); James (bass) and Chris (drums). .. .. Formed in late 2007, this beat-combo plays a heady mix of angular new-wave rock n roll but with a crucial Celtic melancholic twist. .. .. They have a simple agenda: • They don’t want to liquidate you or to see your papers. • They don’t even want to send you to the great music Gulag for re-education. No! • They just want to play their music and hope you can come along for the ride (if you don’t you may get an unexpected knock on the door at three am). But they don’t want to do that! .. .. If ’KOBA’ have a five year plan it’s simply to spread the word, while making people tap their toes and nod their heads, like the cooing pigeons down on George Square. .. .. From Moscow to Glasgow; From Red Square to George Square! .. .. Come Comrades! .. .. .. ..
