My Influences are of a great selection of genres, including, Reggae, Soul, R&B, Zouk, and Soca.
I grew up listening to the likes of, Bill Withers, David Ruffin, Yellow Man, Culture, Mighty Sparrow, Gramax, Tabou Combo, Fele Cootie and Marvin Gay.
My love for music has spiraled from when I was a small child and has been influenced by these artists.
Born in the East End of London, yet brought up in Little Jamaica (South City, Grand Bay) Dominica. Kochie Banton has toured the world writing, producing and performing, for the entertainment of Millions.
He has worked with some of the most successful performers of the music industry, ranging from Moby and The Boyz From Brazil to Freddy Mcgregor and Capleton.
He has topped the International Charts, storming to number one in Japan (and staying there for 7 weeks!), number 5 in Canada, and smashed the American Billboard Charts, making a first entry of number 27!
He has starred on MTV, on his own music video as the band Unit3 UK, as well as featuring on others e.g., Fugees and Lenny Kravits.
He has hosted music Television in the heart of New York City (Reggae Vibration), promoting some of the hottest Reggae artists of the 90s including UB40, Shaggy, Shabba and many more.
For the past year Kochie has been travelling America, performing and producing his latest up and coming album Jus My Vibe. With an open-minded attitude to music and a vast musical taste, he is always eager to collaborate with other artists and looks forward to hearing from anyone interested in his work.
The list of Musical experience just goes on and on, winning Life Time Musical Achievement Award for British Black History Month, this artist is defiantly worth checking out.
