A little bit about Rick:
Rick has been our chief meteorologist since he arrived in Oklahoma in 1994. In 1987 he graduated with his bachelor of science degree in meteorology at the University of Nebraska. Rick has worked through some of Oklahoma's worst weather conditions, including May 3rd, 1999. His coverage on that day earned the First Alert Storm Team a special recognition award from then Governor Frank Keating. Rick has also earned awards for his weathercasts from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press. In 1994, he was nominated for a Heartland Emmy Award.
Rick is happily married and has two beautiful children!
A little bit about Aaron:
Starting in June of 2001, Aaron became a part of the weather team. Aaron was born and raised in Dallas,Texas...ya we all feel sorry for him. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Texas A&M University and holds the American Meteorological Society's Television Seal of Approval. While in college, Aaron worked as a student intern for the National Weather Service and as a research technician for the Department of Meteorology at Texas A&M. During this time, he learned how Mother Nature could do her worst.
He was working on a research project called TEXACAL when an F5 tornado ripped through the town of Jarrell in central Texas.
"It was the first time I saw what an F5 can do," Aaron said. "It ripped the pavement right off the highway and left nothing behind."
Aaron married Tiffany on a sandy beach in Negril, Jamaica, on June 20, 2003.
When Aaron isn't busy forecasting Central Oklahoma weather and out chasing storms, he enjoys just about all outdoor and indoor sports, fishing, camping, bodybuilding and spending time with his wife and dog, Sunnie.
A little bit about Frank:
Frank Johnson grew up in Rockport, Mass. with a front-row seat to the nor'easters and hurricanes that routinely batter the East Coast.
But, before moving to Tornado Alley, he had never seen a tornado, and had only seen hail twice in his life. It took just one storm chase to realize that this part of the country is where the weather "action" is.
Frank's passion for the weather led him to the KOCO-TV weather team in September 2000. Frank studied Meteorology at Penn State University and received his Degree in 1991. In February of 1996, he brought his future wife Susan to Punxsutawney, Penn., for Groundhog Day.
In the snow and sub-zero temperatures on Gobblers Knob, he proposed just as Punxsutawney Phil was waking up. Susan said "Yes" and predicted a lifetime of happiness. Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter!
Before moving to Oklahoma, Frank worked at KVII-TV in Amarillo, Texas; KBMT-TV in Beaumont, Texas; and KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colo.
A little bit about Steve:
Steve is not only a member of the First Alert Weather team, he is also a professor at Rose State College, where he teaches meteorology.
Steve worked four years as a meteorologist in the Oklahoma City market before coming to KOCO 5. He has also worked at KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas, where he served as the morning meteorologist for nearly two years.
Steve is a native Oklahoman, born in McAlester (although he spent most of his time in nearby Krebs, the "Little Italy of Oklahoma"). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
He also holds a Master of Science degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University and hopes to receive a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma in the near future.
Steve is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. You might also catch him on a different sort of airwave -- as an amateur radio operator. His call sign is N5WAV. Steve has been honored with several awards, and was part of the Emmy award-winning effort for coverage of the May 3 Oklahoma City area tornado outbreak.
While in college, Steve was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band and the National Association of College Broadcasters.
Steve enjoys college football (especially OU), hunting and fishing, friends and family, church activities, and of course, storm chasing!

Lol....so I have to tell you that your quote is my pet peeve (You'll have to read my quotes). Reality is Reality .....otherwise everyone would love the assignment desk because when we "percieved" a news story it would always turn out to be something....
