BORN IN SAN DIEGO, AND INTO A MILITARY FAMILY, KODAK WAS RAISED TO BE OPEN MINDED WHICH YOU CAN DIRECTLY HEAR IN HIS MUSIC. KODAK MAKES MUSIC WITH INFLUENCES FROM ROCK & ROLL, POP, COUNTRY, OLD SCHOOL R&B, CLASSICAL, HIP HOP, AND ANY OTHER GENRE YOU CAN THINK OF. AS A CHILD, KODAK WAS ALWAYS INTERESTED IN MUSIC AND EVEN BEGGED HIS MOTHER TO LET HIM TAKE PIANO LESSONS AS AN 11 YEAR OLD. WITH MUSIC IN HIS HEART, KODAK WAS LATER INTRODUCED TO FRUITY LOOPS AND ACID PRO WHEN HE WAS 16 YEARS OLD BY HIS OLDER BROTHER, SAM KING. KODAK WAS NEVER AN ARTIST BUT HE WOULD ALWAYS FREESTYLE WITH HIS FRIENDS. AFTER HIGHSCHOOL, HE ATTENDED THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA IN COLUMBIA AND MAJORED IN PSYCHOLOGY. AFTER YEARS, KODAK REALIZED THIS WASN'T WHAT HE WANTED TO DO AND SAT OUT A SEMESTER TO PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER. DURING THIS BREAK, KODAK GREATLY IMPROVED FROM LOCKING HIMSELF IN THE STUDIO EVERY SUMMER, ALL SUMMER. HE BECAME PART OF MILLION DOLLAR DREAMS (HIS BROTHERS LABEL IN ATLANTA) AND HAS TURNED HIMSELF INTO A MUSICAL GENIUS.
