Between 1983 and 2000, RSB released 10 albums that feature reggae, soca and zouk, the native music of Dominica. RSB toured extensively, playing in Canada, England, and throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean islands. RSB opened for numerous artists including Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer, Culture, Dennis Brown, and Shinehead. Since settling in Chicago in 2003, Kofi has performed countless shows in the Chicago area and throughout the Midwest. In recent years, he has devoted his music writing and performance skills to the genre he is most passionate about: roots reggae. Kofi dazzles audiences with his joyful, energetic style, and his conscious lyrics about serious issues. His performances uplift people and encourage the celebration of life. Kofi's long-awaited solo album "New Name" is now available on itunes, CDBaby & www.newrootsproductions.com website. With a great new set of serious roots reggae with a little ska and lovers rock thrown into the mix; The highly anticipated released of this Cd didn't let his fans down. The hundreds who turned out for the Cd release party on May 18Th at the Wild Hare surely had one of the best times ever. When asked what made this Artist 'Kofi' and his music stand out to you? Fans had this to say. "well he is real , his music is true to who he is....." " he performs live & direct filled with energy" "wicked roots rockers" "Yes i ! the man just have a wicked voice and knows how to rock" " His music is tight and lyrics clean & uplifting..." Kofi was blessed and excited to have been able to share some of his great new material with the Chicago Reggae Festival audience on August 18, 2007, the honor came when he was invited back for the 2Nd annual CRF2008 on August 23rd.this time Kofi brought the house down, backed by his ten piece band union park felt the heat once again. Currently kofi is preparing new material & networking the possibilities of a tour in the future. Other artists from Dominica making a name for themselves in reggae include Nasio Fontaine,Nelly Stharre, Boom Shaka, and Lazo to name a few.
