Kofi hails from Dominica, the “Nature Isle” of the Caribbean, and is one of the original, founding members of Roots, Stem, & Branches (RSB Band). Between 1983 and 2000, RSB released 10 albums that feature reggae, soca and zouk, the native music of Dominica. RSB toured extensively, playing in Canada, England, and throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean islands. RSB opened for numerous artists including Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer, Culture, Dennis Brown, and Shinehead. Since settling in Chicago in 2003, Kofi has performed countless shows in the Chicago area and throughout the Midwest. In recent years, he has devoted his music writing and performance skills to the genre he is most passionate about: roots reggae. Kofi dazzles audiences with his joyful, energetic style, and his conscious lyrics about serious issues. His performances uplift people and encourage the celebration of life. Kofi’s long-awaited solo album "New Name" is now available on itunes, CDBaby & www.newrootsproductions.com website. With a great new set of serious roots reggae with a little ska and lovers rock thrown into the mix; The highly anticipated released of this Cd didn't let his fans down. The hundreds who turned out for the Cd release party on May 18Th at the Wild Hare surely had one of the best times ever. When asked what made this Artist 'Kofi' and his music stand out to you? Kofi was blessed and excited to have been able to share some of his great new material with the Chicago Reggae Festival audience on August 18, 2007, the honor came when he was invited back for the 2Nd annual CRF2008 on August 23rd.this time Kofi brought the house down, backed by his ten piece band union park felt the heat once again. Currently kofi is preparing new material & networking the possibilities of a tour in the future.

There is no end to the different ways that people look at life. People view existence in this world through very different sets of eyes. Even when people look at the same circumstances and situations, different people have totally different views. Let me use two examples as illustrations.
To some people, life stinks. No matter what the circumstances are or the situation is, they always see the stinky things. Trouble chases them like a vicious dog. Problems cling to them like ticks. Tragedy rains on them like hail stones. When something good happens, they cannot enjoy it. They spend their time wondering when the bad will come. If they win a million dollars, the taxes are horrible. When someone is kind to them, they wonder, "What is that person trying to do to me?" To them, life is horrible, so they look for the bad in every situation.
To some people, life is wonderful. Everything is wonderful! If trouble chases someone like an angry dog, that person irritated the dog. If problems cling to someone like ticks, that person walked among the ticks. If tragedy falls on someone like hail stones, that person chases tornadoes. Life is naturally good! Bad things do not happen unless you invite them into your life. They never look at life and see anything bad.
