Influences
Celtic music, my training in classical piano...which is mostly featured in my recordings...I'm also a harpist as well, and that is there too.
I love Clannad, Enya, Loreena McKinnett, and I also draw strongly from my childhood listening experiences with my mother, who was a folksinger.
I think Mary Chapin Carpenter is amazing...I feel I'm emerging as a singer/songwriter as well as a solo pianist...composer.
Sounds Like
For fans of Loreena McKinnett or Enya or Clannad. Most People have told me so. My music can also remind them of Yani, or the music to the Lord of the Rings films, Narnia, and other mystical soundtracks.
I, Kokila, am a Celtic-inspired composer of music for the Piano & Harp. I can also play the recorder. I am in the process of starting my own record label Avalon Isle Music and will be soon releasing my music throught that. This will include my independant releases made before now, all with new artwork, packaging and some with new songs.
I am a deeply spiritual person, and that part of me playes a tremendous role in my life, it is who I am and how I deal with others. I am a proud Pagan, I celebrate life, the Earth and the goddesses. I love animals very much and I have several as friends living here with me. My heart lies in England & all of the UK where the Celtic tradition and culture is embedded firmly in everday life. I love the myth and lore of King Arthur, I believe in ghosts, the tarot, magic, enchantment, and the mystical fabric that covers this world to which most people are blind. I am a healer and practice Quantum Touch and Matrix Energetics and Reiki. I believe that feelings and will are energy and can wield great power.
I play and perform widely in the Long Island, NY area. Sometimes with my talented friends of whom are immensly blessed with their own musical, singing and dancing skills.
I would describe my music as ethereal, dreamy, soul-searching and melodic, and fans are eager to proclaim it "healing" and "inspiring", and "beautiful". "Haunting" would be appropriate as well. ALL of my music is FULLY Copywrited and Protected by the Library of Congress as should everyone who creates their own. But, Please, enjoy it with my BLESSING.

I firmly believe that we musicians, artsist, and creative souls are all in this together.
A little about me, I grew up on the grounds of a replica of an ancient English estate, now called the Sand's Point Nature Preserve (see: www.sandspointpreserve.org) which inspired my childhood dreams of romantic castles, and Celtic legends... as much as solidified my intense love of nature and the soft murmers of the trees and the Earth. Much of what I learned and gathered there, in my everyday experiences, is deeply woven, into my music and compositions.
I am always looking to make new friends and fans. I write personal letters and like real contact. I will send out bulletins occasionally.
