About Kola Collective

Started in 2006, KoLa Collective began as a modern folk trio, blending Roma (central European gypsy) music, funk beats and Latin American melodies and lyrics. The band soon expanded to include a Latin rhythm section and Spanish guitars. They quickly became an amalgamation of world rhythms, languages and styles.

The name KoLa is symbolic of the kola nut; a tree native to Central and Western Africa. KoLa nut is used for it's stimulant and euphoriant qualities; which is what music is across all cultures.

In their 2 years together, koLa Collective played to very appreciate audiences across the board and are very thankful for the people involved who helped them achieve such great experiences.
