"Obviously I am embarrassed to find myself in this situation, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their support," Dourdan said in a statement to PEOPLE. "I have complete confidence in and respect for the justice system and will cooperate fully with any investigation." Earlier today on Accesshollywood. com, host Shaun Robinson revealed a detailed e-mail exchange she had with Dourdan, a friend. A spokesman for Dourdan tells PEOPLE, "This was a personal text to a friend taken completely out of context." The exchange was not intended for air or publication. In the e-mail to Robinson, Dourdan, 41, apologized to his fans and explained the circumstances that led to his arrest Monday in Palm Springs, Calif., where police discovered him asleep in his car, which was parked on the wrong side of the road. “Obviously I certainly wish I hadn’t been responsible for so many people getting to the festival’s VIP area,” Dourdan wrote, referring to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. “And the after party, it ran me ragged, but I’m glad pulling over did prevent a DUI.” He also goes on to say, “I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative.” Dourdan was found in possession of suspected cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and prescription pills, police say. He posted $5,000 bail and was released. Dourdan returned to work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation shortly after his arrest. The actor has not been formally charged. His arraignment is set for May 28.

According to an insider, the decision was a mutual one made by the actor and CBS/Paramount, the studio that produces the procedural drama for CBS. CBS/Paramount would not confirm the date of Dourdan's last episode, though it will likely occur in the next month since the actor's contract expires this season. The insider says there's a chance that Dourdan, one of a handful of African-American men in leading, primetime roles, will reprise his role with occasional guest appearances in coming seasons. Dourdan's decision to leave the show comes on the heels of Jorja Fox's much ballyhooed departure from the series late last year. The actress told EW then that she would like to return to the series someday, though not in a full-time capacity. Time for change the lead single from Kirton’s album of the same title, was released by iTunes on Tuesday March 18th on the front page of the iTunes Reggae section. A world music feature is soon to follow. Kirton is displayed as a featured artist with a direct link displaying his image, name and song title. Kirton’s catalogue is an impressive list with the top songs spanning 10 years of music including Green Camouflage, Cool Breezin, Sugar and Rasta Meditation among others. The single Time for change was originally released in Barbados in 2006 but was only released in the USA late 2007 after Kirton’s South-by-South West Showcases. It was at that Austin, Texas conference that his Barbadian Record label, Bird’s Eye Music was able to secure the digital distribution deal with DMGI now The Orchard / DMGI who facilitated the itunes placement. This release on iTunes is the first of a series of singles of Kirton’s to be featured from the Time for Change album.
