The kolapser is originally from South Birmingham, England and migrated to Adelaide, Australia April 1992.
Kolaps has been contributing his talent within the Australian hip hop scene since late 1996-early 1997. He first made his debut in 1998 by participating in a series of local Adelaide emcee battles called vocal lords. Pursuing his hip hop further he eventually met dj debris (Hilltop Hoods), who lived locally in his area. After arranging many meetings with debris, kolaps learnt a large portion of basic production & studio recording techniques, watching debris produce tracks for his own 2 groups at the time at cross bred production studios, (delusions of psychosis & hilltop hoods). Prior to the release of back once again, debris assisted production for early kolaps tracks which helped expose the emcees style. One of his first shows supported DJ Bones & Espa lab tour.
As time progressed the Project Culture of kings arose. The track propaganda was selected to feature on the Australia wide compilation, which was his first release. The support for the culture of kings project from Adelaide hip hop groups was enormous, spawning a collective called certified wise. Consisting of hilltop hoods, crossbred mongrels, terrafirma, after hours, trauma, kolaps, the expressionist, blokade, dj reflux, dj dymes & later on, included the funkoars, dj snair & Defenders. All artists involved were based in Adelaide helping form a good alliance as heard on 13 emcees&3 dj's, also featured on c.o.k vol1.
Suffer of hilltop hoods released an Australia wide compilation album called suffering city volume1.This featured the track subconscious, alongside artist such as pegz, mass emcee and terrafirma. It was a progressive breakthrough for kolaps and an improved follow up from culture of kings vol.1.
At this point in time cross bred mongrels were performing and recording music for albums. Pulled into the mongrel camp kolaps found a spot on world dominations scratch intro, & the x-bred classic, agitated dingos. Performances of this track led to support for album launches by hilltop hoods (album left foot right foot), after hours (album different rules apply) & Foreign leigion's Australian tour. Amongst other solo performances over the years to keep the ball rolling he has performed recorded or interacted with a large majority of the Adelaide scene. performing for numerous arts/government, charity and youth events helped gain more experience, leading to support for interstate acts such as lyrical commission and various other performances. One of his most favourite & memorable tracks recorded during this time was Dole Bludgers featuring kris (edits) of after hours & dj sum1 (2xoz/nz world itf finalist, vestax extravaganza ranked 1st).This track can now be found on the hip hop sphere mixtape. The beat is produced by kris of After Hours.
Realising his pursuit of hip hop was growing; kolaps funded his own studio to continue his music and study of hip hop at a faster rate. Since then he has kept indoors learning to perfect & master his unique u.k/aust hybrid style.
As time past, kolapser was called upon to participate in another posse track with other certified wise emcees. The track was called the certificate & featured on hilltop hoods album The Calling. The certificate topped the previous certified wise track. It had more emcees & dj's due to the arrival of the funkoars into certified wise & the fact the album went platinum in sales. Currently, he is most renowned for this verse.
In more recent times kolaps hit the mixtape scene through dj sum1. He has Contributions on the second2none mixtape by dj sum1, all frames of the game volume 1 (hosted by freestyle of the arsonists) as well as his latest release, the hip hop sphere mixtape.
Currently he is recording music for an upcoming release is giving him ammunition for more live shows. Expect to hear more from him in future as he becomes active live. He is an artist who likes to let the music speak for itself His last performances were support for Texas rapper k-rino@Earth Nightclub - may 2007, Rhino Room Adelaide - June 2007, Guest apperance with V.High.P & Emcee Kim@Cargo Club Adelaide - July 2007, & Support With Emcee Kim for her debut@Producers Bar Adelaide - August 2007.
Since then Kolaps has performed on average a gig a month Through till june 2008 I various Adelaide Locations From Aldinga To Adelade city. Progress has been made on the Interger1 & Kolaps E.P. and he is still participating on backing up vocals & verses for Kimence.
The business side of things is improving, with Kolaps turning a hand at his own show promotion/organisation as seen on June 7th@Crown & Sceptre, gathering support for his ventures from Groups Such as Social Change, Dialect, Venakula, & Dj Sum1, as well as Outside sources Clinic116 Records And Stickypoint Magazine - The voice of Australia's Cannabis Culture (www.stickypointmagazine.com)
Recently also Kolaps has started to invest time into the world of turntablism! Not to say at the moment he can Dj or Cut the fuk out of a record but, definatly he IS spending plenty of time on skill development for this element. A genuine interest in turntablism has sparked this move. Possibly another building block ontop of any current progress made for 2008.
Rest assured He is still active! The most recent release for Kolaps is a feature on the mammoth Certified Wise Posse track, released on the New Terrafirma Album titled, Music To Live By... out now on CD & Wax! Showcasing yet another certified stomper! Certainly a mega achievement for Terrafirma & Australian Hip Hip in General! Please Buy The New Terrafirma album!!! Its a Ripper!!
NEW NEWS....................
As of late, a Kolaps & Integer 1 E.P is currently continuing to plod along. Many ideas are being gathered to forward the project further, however the final release is still some time away, however hard drive space & storage grows bigger as production builds.
Meanwhile..... I would like to bring your attention to the Integer1 solo project. A ten track, to be released very soon. Once back from mastering, Adelaides underground can prepare for a major dose of the Artistik Intalekts abilitys. Listeners who seek some technically deep lyrics, and avid After Hours fans will get a pound of dopeness poured into their ears. I also have the pleasure of ripping a verse on this new release, & over the past year or 2, it have been a delight to see it unforld for Integer1. I have long been entertained by this release during its production, & feel it is another solid Adelaide release. However, I'm sure it will point a new direction in Oz Hip Hop for listeners to delve into. LOOK OUT!! :)
That's my profile update for the moment. Thanks to all who have & continue to support us through thick & thin in the underground! Mad Respect!!

BIAS B - AEROSOL ERA - July 4th out through Wordburner/Obese Distribution.
Throughout the 80s and 90’s Melbourne experienced a graffiti explosion which quickly cemented the city in the history books for it’s influence on style and development of the graffiti art culture. Bias takes us on a journey back to his days growing up on the train lines with the infamous Wild Child Art crew, to the days he calls the Aerosol Era. Tracks that describe the often tumultuous life of a writer, like “Militant Mindstate,” “Another Day,” and “Racked That,” showcase the very personal and introspective nature of Aerosol Era through the eyes of one of Australian hip hop’s most influential poets. Featuring production by Jase, Bigfoot, Peril, Ransom, Ciecmate and Brothers Stoney and representing Melbourne’s most prolific graffiti crews DMA, WCA, USA, CTF, RDC, F1C, TSF, Hursty Boys and Brisbane’s DIE TBK and 750, Aerosol Era is an audio journal of the graffiti life as penned by Bias himself.
