This east coast native born on the year of the funky-child was heavily influenced, musically, by both of his parents. His mother’s Angelic voice embraced KONFIDENT’s spirit daily as she improvised tunes from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. But KONFIDENT’s innovated way at looking at music all changed when his Puerto Rican father laced his ear drums with his own musical talents by wailing on the congas and listening to Afro-Cuban and pioneering salsa musicians from the Caribbean. The combination of his parents encouraged KONFIDENT to seek for something to identify who and how he would play apart in his musically inclined familia. And in 1977 KONFIDENT’s mind was blown when he heard Rappers Delight for the first time on the radio in Washington, D.C. A true M.C was again then born!
Today KONFIDENT has resided in Pacoima, C.A, which is one of the many violent barrios in Los Angeles County. Yet this M.C learned to channel his life experiences through his music which led him to record with many hip hop legends such as BUCK SHOT of BLACK MOON/BOOT CAMP CLIK, E-SWIFT & JRO of the ALKAHOLIKS, NEMS of FYL/UNCLE HOWIE RECS, 2MEX, MUMS DA WORD, KOMBO, NEB LUV, RHYME ADDICTS, DECLAIME and JUDA MANG just to name a few. KONFIDENT’s new album has plenty of production by SOUL ASSASSINS newest member to the camp who calls himself G-ROCKA. G-ROCKA produced more than several tracks on the new SOUL ASSASSINS upcoming compilation that D.J MUGGS will release in 2009. Also, a prominent talented producer for artist in the SICK SYMPHONIES’s camp and for artist such as B-REAL, ILL BILL, and DJ QUICK goes by the name of ST. LOUIS. This cat has really help gel KONFIDENT’s upcoming project together to solidify his sound as a force to be wrecking with. KONFIDENT has also toured with WU-TANG in 2003, MURS, Brother Ali, OMNI (My Way or Highway Tour) in 2003, BOOT CAMP CLIK (LAST STAND TOUR) in 2005.
KONFIDENT has a sound that is universally favored and not to be pigeon-holed to be an exclusive Los Angeles based sound even though artist such as Divine Styler, the LIKS, and young ICE CUBE at the time were some of his influences. However, KONFIDENT always has consistently write rhymes to out- do timeless artists such as RAKIM, GHOST FACE, RED MAN, NAS, PUN, to create his own style that is more aggressive than theirs because it has a Los Angeles street swagger that has always stood alone.
