The Hinterlands EP is finally for sale. Please control yourself.
AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE & AT ALL LIVE JUNCTIONS.
"Philly buzz band TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb just released their debut EP, Hinterlands... It lands somewhere between The Basement Tapes and Anodyne, with a ragged, lo-fi aesthetic and lyrics drenched in heartbreak and whiskey."
-Pop Matters
"[Kong] is a gifted storyteller, crafting tales of drifters, losers, and drunkards into four-minute epics...Martino’s sparse yet inventive rhythms give the songs lift and pep...All of it makes for an expansive and compelling debut, heralding a promising future for [Kong] and his Bomb. With any luck, they’ll be getting their well-deserved due alongside Bon Iver and William Elliott Whitmore by year’s end."
-Sputnik Music
"Take equal parts Bob Dylan and the Kingsmen and throw in a little bit of the Band and you’ll get Philadelphia’s TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb."

"If you're looking for a boot-stomping, whiskey drinking, screaming and shouting good time be sure to check out TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb."
-Deli Magazine
"The tunes are so enthralling and catchy it becomes increasingly harder with each play to stay in one place. The weary at times, yet always truthful lyrics have you moaning along with Kong and banging around with the rest of the band."
-Soundproof Magazine
"Playing Americana 'slash blues', the duo sing, wail, lament, and brood over being drunk, hungover, alone, depressed, sweaty, and lost. A simple recount of a whiskey-inspired tradition on guitar and harmonica. A Pop staff pick!"
-Pop Montreal
"Awesome lo-fi blues folk tunes that just speak to my soul."
ok sorry that was probably a bit harsher than i meant it darlin what i mean to say is i think musically this band is wonderful but the vocal effects ruin it for me. but at the same time it is totally your music and i have no say in the matter and these people seem to like it
gee josh this band looks pretty fancy sounds like the strokes actually i like 'everyone's a jerkoff you can see it in their eyes' although i do like your natural voice and wish you wouldn't alter it. to tell you the truth i kind of don't like this music and wish you would go back to epic strang music, but i can understand your reasoning behind making this kind of musical decision. don't you go getting yourself signed now.
OH also shameus and i did NOT give you scabies, how shameful of you to tell our friends that and think you'd get away with it. how very josh. no, in fact, neither shameus or i have ever had scabies in our lives, although on family vacation i broke out in an itchy rash due to what the doctor diagnosed as a soap allergy. i worry sometimes, living with roommates that'll fill your mind with nonsense. the old gang's all over the place. i don't even really like getting drunk anymore. and you point your scabies laden finger at me. shame. also some 300 lb traveler stole my trumpet, if you see her she is named rebecca and wears a hat too small for her and black glasses and has a tattoo on her arm that says stardust. she was headed to raleigh last supposedly.
Thanks for checking out my music. If you are around Philly on Friday August 28th, I'm playing at the Blinkin Lincoln at 9 PM. Rock on! Maybe see you then.
