In the past 5 years of living in China, Mael has become a leading DJ in the capital city’s electronic music scene . As part of the “The Syndicate” crew, Mael has played his fair part in pushing the underground music movement in Beijing, involving bass heavy styles from Drum and Bass and Reggae to Dubstep. Mael recently returned to Europe, and now based in the lovely city of Rome is cooking up some new audio projects with fellow producers there.

This week on KONGKAST! Special guest mix by one of the local talents from Malaysia - DJ Anowl (Loops Collective, Resistive / Malaysia).
Anowl started exploring the music and scene himself yet started DJing in 2003. From then, he has spinned in major Drum N Bass private parties in the same year. DJ Deville (Uprooted Sunshine Shanghai) is one of the leading Dubstep Deejays based in Shanghai. Playing some of the heaviest dance floor fillers at his residency club (one of Kongkretebass’ favorite clubs in Asia) THE SHELTER.
DJ Deville - originally from Geneva, Switzerland, has been heavily involved in the Funk and Hip Hop scene since 1997.Since moving to China in 2006, he has been spotted playing at various big venues and festivals such as The Shelter (Club) and Modern Sky Festival.

Nymfo has been apart of Drum and Bass for well over a decade, a mastermind and organizer of one of the number one events in the Netherlands, Red Zone and ICON. Seen as one of the most talented up and coming deejays in the scene, Nymfo was well established in 2005 when he won the ‘Best Dutch Drum and Bass DJ’ then went on to win the same title again in 2007. Since the last 3 years, Nymfo has been signed on some of the biggest labels in the scene - such as Andy C’s RAM Records, Renegade Recordings, Critical Recordings, Frequency Recordings and the huge Shogun Limited imprint.

Nursing his very distinctive style since the early beginnings of Dubstep, Cyrus is best known for his immensely powerful, sparse and sub-heavy tracks. As a main fixture in the UK dubstep scene, Cyrus has been pushing his sound across the board, not only being a successful producer and label owner, but also as pirate radio host on legendary station Rinse FM, as well as DJing at top UK nights DMZ, Sub Dub, FWD, and across the world. Our guest mix this week is of a different flavour than usual. KONGKAST#79 features a dubstep selection by DJ Zuju from Macau, China.
Since back in the days, Zuju has been one of the pioneering Drum and Bass DJs in Macau, but in the recent year, him and his good friend N1D discovered an unheard genre in Macau called DUBSTEP” they quickly caught on and started experimenting with this new and exciting sound.

With the recent launch of the Mainframe Recordings imprint, Austrian DJ/ Producer Disaszt propels himself further into the top shelves of the Austrian dnb scene. As part of the legendary Mainframe Crew, he has been responsible for promoting some of the biggest parties across Austria over the past 6 years, hosting an impressive line-up of DJs to crowds of up to 2,000 people. As a producer Disaszt has been creating his own tracks since 2001, and with a number of releases under his belt currently finds himself collaborating with names such as Shimon - with a forthcoming release on the master’s AudioPorn label.
