The Konrad Koselleck Big Band was founded by pianist, composer and conductor Konrad Koselleck. Its members include highly talented jazz musicians from various nationalities. In 2004 Koselleck introduced his band in the Dutch jazz scene during an evening concert at the BIMhuis. Konrad composes and arranges new big band repertoire showing a great sense of originality and creativity according to Peter Herbolzheimer, one of the most recognized European big band leaders and composers. The Konrad Koselleck Big Band started to challenge ‘big band tradition’ through cross over arrangements unifying traditional jazz feel and today’s pop- and rock music. You will find also elements of classic and folk in Konrad's music. For example: Since 2005 the band features music and film star Ellen ten Damme in a show covering jazz and German rock music (see the video).
You can hear the band every 2nd monday of the month in the Sugar Factory, a hip night theatre in the heart of Amsterdam.
I heard you guys. You sounded really good. I was running over to check out Dave Douglas and then Fred Hersch. There's so much to hear at those big festivals. I wish I could've heard more of ya'll. I'll have to go to your site. CATCH YA LATER.........SPARKY
Hi, Konrad! Yes, your name is very Polish, I thought you came from Poland. We're going to visit Amsterdam tomorrow but only for a couple of hours, but can't wait to see it anyway because never been there yet! What a shame! haha I can't see any of your shows tomorrow, but hopefully see one soon. Do you play gigs in Poland? Haven't finished the English narrative I mentioned yet, will do when we're back from the trip and let you know definitely! All the best Suave
Hello Konrad, many thanks for your comment! Actually the local dialect we use in singing is not really understood by the Polish either! It used to be Prussia here! As to the fantasy, we're launching our short real/fantasy writing in English to further reinvent and cast a new light on the regional folklore and revive the old beliefs. We will put it next week on our site, if you feel like reading for a moment Greetings
