Konspiracy formed in late 2003 as Tony Lindsey (drums), Tim Wall (guitar), Riley Keith (bass) and Hunter Adams (guitar). After Hunter was dropped in October of that year, Brent Seidelman assumed vocal postion and the writing process began as a four piece. By 2004, the band had self-released a 3 track self-titled demo. As the demo began to circulate online, it caught the ears of locals and promoters alike. Not long after that, the band began playing their first gigs. The media buzz traveled across the state of Illinois, and quite a fan base came of this buzz. By 2005, the band picked up Will Cochran and Clayton Thompson (Current member of local band Commodity) on guitar and acquired the title "The Six Man Army". From the looks of the crowd at their shows, it wasn't too far-fetched of a title. The band emitted such energy through their music and to the crowd, it was quite an experience for everyone. In 2006, Konspiracy released their 7-track ep entitled "Diary". The demo contained re-recorded versions of the songs from the previous demo as well as some fresh tracks. Around late 2006, Brent had called it quits, and older brother Brody Seidelman took the spot. Will had left around the same time, and it was down to the five of them.
Early 2007 promised to be a breakthrough for the band. No longer an opening band, but co-headliners. The band had such a powerful energy. Konspiracy's singles "Diary" and "These Four Words (Become My Failsafe) had also hit local radio program "C U In Hell" on 90.1 fm late thursday nights. At this time, Clayton and Tim began writing for a follow up ep. The first single "This Harboring Hate" definitely defined the band's next step into a much heavier, progressive sound than they had in the past. At the time, Clayton had felt a change of heart and decided to leave. The band began auditioning and went through a handful of hopefuls, but none lasted more than 2 months. In the summer of 2008, before Konspiracy was scheduled to embark towards the Indiana Metal Fest, they entered the studio with Zakk Burke of local act Verdict. They recorded "This Harboring Hate" and the circulation broadened the band's horizon. The fan base grew, shows lined up, it looked as if Konspiracy was really heading places. Before they had the chance to leave for the Indiana Metal Fest Tour, the band unfortunately split. Brody was dropped from the line-up and things looked grim for the 3-piece.
The band had picked up more auditions for both vocals and guitar, but no one really stuck. They had began to give up. The sincerity was no longer present between the members. Tim began to spend hours out of the day, working on a heavier sound and writing handfuls of scratch tracks, trying to figure out a way to come back with a boom. Brent had returned in early 09 to play a few reunion gigs, but Riley had left as bassist. After tension had separated the group, things began to pick up that summer. Riley had rejoined as lead vocals, as well as recruiting Dustin Hill as guitarist and Amos Huckstep as bassist. Finally together as a five piece act, things looked as if they were surely picking up for the guys. Currently recording their full length entitled "...A Tragic Loss For Words" the guys have acquired a much more sinister sound, without straying too far from the path they began on. You can tell from maturity the writing process had became much tighter. The band hopes to return this fall, with the release of ATLFW, and hopefully the breakthrough they've wanted. Only time will tell how strong the bonds between these musicians has grown.
