kontakte’s music infuses all elements from the sonic-spectrum. Combining ethereal melodies and celestial tones with a pulsing electronic backbeat, kontakte produce an overall hypnotic noise – informing the band to create music with depth, space and intensity.
2009 see's kontakte expanding their line-up to a four piece for the first time. Subtleties and textures that were once buried amongst the wall of sound are now soaring within the mix and creating a life of their own and developing kontakte's music even further.
Currently writing new material and rehearsing for a run of upcoming shows this Spring/Summer. kontakte are looking forward to unveiling new members, new sounds and new levels of noise very soon.

"Surging forth on a throb of sleek drum machine, Kontakte glide along a shimmering autobahn where audio technology drifts across the spectrum of retro-futurism – roaring into overdrive, pistons heaving and churning with mechanical glee." - Plan B
.."Soundtracks For Lost Road Movies" is a remarkably apt title...
A cinematic trip where the landscape is awe inspiring and ecstatically ethereal. The album shows a depth of musicianship, production and song structure." - Crumbs In The Butter (Top 10 Albums 2008)
"The opening track from (the) epic instrumentalists debut album is hypnotic, ethereal and beautiful. Kontakte expertly build the atmosphere of each track, often reaching a crescendo of massive, orchestral proportions - but with guitars !" - iTunes
"The long-awaited debut album by Kontakte is finally out. Soundtracks... consists of 6 tracks and 6 remixes and lives up to the hype.
In its gigantic shoegazing world of the sometimes 10 minute long instrumentals there is alot of noise and thunder; but again and again the cloudy sky opens up for moments of sheer infinite beauty. A masterpiece in concept and execution." - Bloom.de (Top 10 Albums 2008)
"... a fine-tuned instrumental blend of post-rock and shoegaze, the band itself segueing between elegant quietude and volcanic guitar-fueled intensity. The coup de grace is clearly "Two and a Half Thousand Miles" which conceivably could be titled in reference to the distance the ten-minute composition ascends as it travels heavenwards. In this slow-burning fireball, the skill and patience with which Kontakte nurtures the piece's celestial mood and sustains its dramatic quality is impressive." Textura.org
"Kontakte now offer up their fantastic debut album. Combining six tracks, and remixes of those six tracks, 'Soundtracks To Lost Road Movies' takes their motorik space-rock to new levels of excellence." - Piccadilly Records (New Avant Post Rock / Drone Record Of The Week)
"kontakte's music totally invokes the essence of the open road; as the purple dusk skyline yawns across the expansive horizon and early evening bleeds into night, this 6 track LP is the perfect accompaniment. This is a promising debut from a promising band whose 'hypnotic, textural, cinematic noise' is set to illuminate the Post-Rock night sky for some time." - Maddog Magazine
"Kontakte have begun to put my faith back in the post-rock genre just as it started to wane. They make songs and sounds with sweet melodies that swirl around your brain without becoming annoying. They know when to pick it up and change it so that the formulas make you want to tune in without turning off. People, this is really very good.' BothBarsOn.com (Top 10 Albums 2008)
"Impressively composed and delicately layered." - The Skinny
"This album consists six instrumental tracks of ethereal swirls building towards huge sonic soundscapes. Each of those tracks are repeated but this time as a re-mix by various 'guests.' The structure and delivery of the music has to be admired." - LoudHorizonMusic.com
"Kontakte's logo is a striking flickering TV screen set to static; live, it sits there behind them next to the laptop which provides their hypnotic backbeats; the pulsing, repetitive electro-drones that form their sound's foundations have that transcendental motorways-at-night feel; they succeed in building great waves of space-noise that draw you in completely and then hit you with the full power of their last track, an electro-fuzz frenzy of Longcut meets My Bloody Valentine with strobes firing either side of the stage which is gloriously exhilarating." - Manchester Music
'Fancy a gentle blast into the solar system? Let noise-gaze merchants Kontakte beam you there with ambient streams of elegant sound strobes. The band's fuzzy electric blue TV screen logo is apt, since their music sucks you in and leads you into entrancement." - GodIsInTheTvZine
"Two And A Half Thousand Miles is obscenely spacious, and is probably the music you'd hear if you lay dying in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Ghosts of Electricity drifts by calmly, interrupted now and then by a sinister hiss - this isn't always music, shifting from discernible melody to heaving fuzz with ease. It is, however, definitely worth a listen.' A New Band A Day
"(these tracks) are addictive, one after the other, although Motorik is the unchallengeable highlight - one of the most addictive tracks of the year, regardless the type of music. It's a song of frequent beauty with the characteristic circular post rock recipe (construction of melody- ignition- derailment)." - Freeze Magazine
"... a fine blend of drones and positively repetitive post-rock textures that build in to anthemic relish." - Organ Magazine
"This is deeply affecting, life-affirming magnificence. The kind of music that picks you up when you least expect it to, transporting you from ennui and doubt to evangelical rebirth : a state of grace !' - Trakmarx
"... smooth teardrops of warm post rock sounds slowly compress and collide against each other violently before sweetly saluting each other goodbye."NerdsAttack
"Kontakte make music for motorways and autobahns." - NME
