Lewis Edwards has been an avid lover of a wide cross-section of music since he was small. After his brother bought some decks and keyboards, Lewis was instantly hooked... desperate to get involved! Fast forward a decade and he’s found himself working closely with one of the luminaries of the UK house scene, Michael Gray, on their hotly tipped outfit ‘Koolwah’.
Lewis created Koolwah while spending a season in Canada’s Rocky Mountains, where he was hanging out snowboarding, watching cable TV and writing music. The time was well-spent and Lewis took home a crazy catalogue of electro tracks that were screaming out for attention. He had worked with Michael Gray several years previously, so on their next meeting Lewis gave Michael an airing of the tracks he’d written, to a rapturous response. They immediately got down to finishing the debut Koolwah material, the first offering of which is the Toolroom Trax bomb “Fashion”, resplendent with remixes from uber-talented producers including Luca Bacchetti and Granite & Phunk.
Lewis’s real vision for Koolwah was inspired after seeing Underworld live; his quest is to fuse electronica and visuals into a live show which he can take on the road. Keep an eye on the Koolwah Myspace page for updates, news and previews of new tracks… something special has begun!
