Sounds Like
What do we sound like? We sound like your favorite band at a rock concert. We take the greatest dance tunes from the past 50 years and play them as closely to the artist's original interpretations as possible. Our repertoire crosses many genres, from Blues to Classic Rock to Pop to 80's to Motown/R&B to Country and Rockabilly, with some Reggae and Disco thrown in. Our goal is to provide great dance renditions of the hits you know and love.
We have a passion for the music and entertaining people of all ages, backgrounds and tastes. With a huge repertoire of songs, we can come up with a mix that will satisfy just about everyone - from line dance and disco, classic rock, 80's hair band to today's Alternative rock. Whatever gets you off your chair on onto the floor, count on us. We also offer up the stage to those with the guts to share their talents, so ask us to sit in on a song. And don't be surprised if we hand you a cowbell or maracas and have you be part of the rhythm section!
In the past few months we've played everywhere from Six Flags Over GA, Eco-Fest, Luby's, Irish Bred, The Dumpster, The Cave, The Alley, Cruizers, Breakers, Love Light Lounge, Winston C's, The Grove, Runaround Sue's and numerous private parties and corporate events. Call us at 404 441-0898 or email booking@kopykatzlive.com and let us design a special night of entertainment that will keep 'em dancing and fill the cash register. Kopy Katz is a tight dance/party band formed in Atlanta in 1994. Playing a mix of classic rock, Blues, R&B, rockabilly, disco, 80's and a little country, the vibe has been kept alive with the one constant of Wayne Bailey on guitar and vocals. The lineup also includes Chuck Huesca-Bass/Vocals, Mike (EEE) Eastman Keyboards/Vocals and Steve Fortuna on Drums/Percussion. Kopy Katz have appeared professionally at Nashville's Grand Ol’ Opry, and Festivals and clubs throughout GA & AL.
Wayne Bailey has played guitar in several high energy rock bands, including El' Diablo and Stormy Dawn. Stormy Dawn had the privilege of playing in major rock concerts supporting the 70s Japanese/Okinawan legendary rock band, Murasaki. After coming back home to the States in 1980, Wayne joined The Southern Pride Band and then moved on to Smokehouse before settling in with the Kopy Katz.
Chuck Huesca on bass comes to us from snowy Chicago. Chuck has played in classic rock and blues bands in the Atlanta area for the past 20 years. His most recent stint was with the Georgia Cadillac’s, a three piece Southern rock band that played in Rome this past year with Sister Hazel and Col Tom Parker. Chuck lays down a smooth groove, and fine harmony vocals.
Steve Fortuna started playing drums age 8 in Detroit. Steve was fortunate to play on the same stage with Motown rockers Iggy and the Stooges, Alice Cooper, Grand Funk and MC5. Sat in at a bowling alley with a young guitar player named Bob Seger. He's played cruise ships and toured for 14 weeks on the road with Jesus Christ Superstar and other NYC musicals and has recorded over 10 albums you can buy on CDbaby.
Lynwood Cleaveland covers keyboards, vocals, and guitar with the Kopy Katz. Lynwood has played with many bands including a show band,"Americas Children" and a Beatles tribute band. In high school,he played with "38 Special's" leader Don Barnes for 3 years in the band called the "Camelots". Molly Hatchet and Synard players were also highschool and college buddies in his hometown of Jacksonville Fla.
With a variety of influences and a passion for live playing, Kopy Katz is a fun band to party with. As entertainment professionals, we realize all crowds and venues are unique, and will work with you to design a show guaranteed to please your venue's theme and demographic.
