Koralyst was formed in August of 2008 by Former Guitarist David Manning, Current lead Guitarist Marcus Wilson, and Drummer Michael Knowles. After the three jammed together a few times, Lead Vocalist Christa Marcus was added to the lineup and is now the powerhouse that fronts this band. Marcus began to write songs for a Haunted House the band was going to perform at in October, so the band then began looking for a Bass Player. The band then added Bassist Ben Mullins and was asked to play their first real show in November at The Highnote. In a months time of the first show the band played 5 shows with several different metal bands from all over B'ham. After the beginning of 2009 the band lost Guitarist David Manning and Bassist Ben Mullins. The band then came across Bassist Josh Fortenberry and then decided to keep the band a four piece. Marcus then decided to move towards the Heavier style of music. The band has since played The Highnote, The Nick, 5 Points Music Hall and Zydeco and has also opened for National Bands including LYNAM, Burn Halo, Track Fighter, and New Medicine.
We would like to thank our fans, friends, and families that have been there supporting us through this journey... we could not do this without them. We would also like to thank LYNAM, Skarstruck, In Between Worlds, and especially Mike E... they have helped push us to be better as a group and as musicians and we really appreciate all the help they have given us.
