I'm about to get a new toy myself, just as soon as I finish paying for it - a Yamaha RM1x, which help me do some more interesting (and portable!) gigs than I've been able to do before, as it's got shedloads of sounds, and each pattern allows up to 16 parts that you can mute or tweak live, which is very cool.
I also recently got a second hand PSP and Beaterator, also with a view to rocking some open mikes around my town, plus I love the idea of having a gig in my pocket - just plug the PSP into a mixer, get some lyric sheets out and away you go.
Now all I have to do is learn how to use these things!
