I'm a writer from the Chicago area. My first book is called "Stones of Abraxas" and it was released in July, 2006. "Stones of Abraxas" is a funny, exciting Young Adult fantasy novel about a brother and sister who discover that their boring, suburban father is really a secret guardian for the magical world of Abraxas. It got great reviews, and I love hearing from readers about the book. There's lots of information about my writing, as well as excerpts from "Stones of Abraxas" and a short story at my webpage www.KOsbornSullivan.com.
My next two books are nonfiction for high school students. They are "Muammar Al-Qaddafi's Libya" and "Slobodan Milosevic's Yugoslavia" and were released by Lerner Publishing. Sure, it's bizarre to go from writing YA fantasy to international dictators, but variety is the spice of life, right?
When I'm not writing, I also teach college-level political science. Yes, politics and fantasy have a lot in common so this is an easy transition for me.
I enjoy spending as much time as possible lounging around the house with my husband, son, and assorted formerly-stray cats.
