The band started in 1997 as "Alexander Kostarev's QUADRAPHONIC SOUND THEATRE" with Ekaterina Morozova on keyboards, Roman Bobrovsky on drums and Alexander Kostarev on guitar (the name then was changed to KosMoBob, and later to Kostarev Group).
First album "Vegetarian" was recorded in 2000-2001, but finally mixed only in 2006 (see song "Heawy Water"), not published yet.
In 2002 the band (with a flute, a violin and a bassoon added) presented a new program - "Concerto Grosso" - in the genre named "time fusion", a music without temporal borders, as if one far observer can simultaneously listen to music of last 4 centuries (see our videos and song "Menuetto"). In 2003 a live performance in Moscow at InProg-2003 Progressive Rock Fest has been captured and released on an independent label "Starless Records"( http://cosmusic.narod.ru/liveatinprog.htm ). Band participated in all InProg festivals from the 2-nd in 2003 to 2006. In 2006 the compilation "Kostarev Works 1978-2006" ( http://cosmusic.narod.ru/works2006.htm ), combining studio and live materials was collected and released (http://www.raig.ru/kostarev.asp). In December 2006 the song "Who's flying over me" appears at "Theme of Appreciation" - A Worldwide Tribute to Eddie Jobson compilation CD (http://repple.se/toa/)
Imagine: You are an North-African immigrant to Spain or a South-American trying to get into US who has not much more than a few suitcases, his ability to work hard, willing to pay with slavery and to do dirty work - work that no inhabitant of the country you want to go to would even think of considering.
You already travelled a far way and left many good friends behind that you maybe never will see again.
You stumble out of the nearly falling apart bus or the smuggler boat, where you had to pay your income of a half year to that grim looking people with hearts of stone - just to take you aboard.
You are sighing gladly that you survived the travel and now take your first steps in your new home country.
And you are soon aware: You are disrespected, treated badly, your woman is seen as a kind of cheap prostitute, other people's children don't want to play with your children.
You are thinking of your former homecountry with feelings of sentimentality and you know there is no hope: you cannot go back...
