The Kovels' most recent books are the newly re-designed Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price List 2009, with 2,500 photos and 44,000 actual prices and "Kovels' American Collectibles, 1900 to 2000." Both are available wherever books are sold and online at http://www.Kovels.com.
Terry will hawk antiques and collectibles donated to the WVIZ-PBS Ideastream benefit auction in Cleveland. The auction airs April 23-26, 2009. Her segments will start around 7 p.m. (EDT) each evening. Check back that week—there will be a link to streaming video of the auction here on Kovels.com.
I sure hope someone can help me identify this mark ... it is a capital N with a C wrapped around it.
It looks like a Newcomb College mark, but people keep telling me Newcomb artists didn't make figurines.
I have two figurines, a set of a boy and a girl on bicycles. The boy and girl are painted porcelain and the bikes are made of metal. There is a small hole on the bottom of the figurines where a piece of metal on the bike slides into it to hold the figurines on the bikes.
The figurines look to be 1940's -1950's in age. I can provide a photo if someone can tell me where to upload it to.
Thank you for adding me. I have several of your books and primitives handed down in my family for generations. I will be watching later this month to your televised auctions...Be blessed.
I will be supporting my local public television station, WVIZ/PBS, during its annual televised auction this month—and Kovels.com will stream the auction live! I will be on the air when antiques are up for auction on Thursday, April 23; Saturday, April 25; and Sunday, April 26, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. Details to follow soon.
