KPE fusion project is a unity between parts of the austrian formation Klangrausch and the swedish duo Poorva Express. After some intense sessions in Varanasi (India) in spring 2006 they joined forces and have since then played lots of gigs in Austria and Slovenia.
Klangrausch is an overtone-oriented group that mostly performs in sound-oriented places such as churches.
Poorva Express performs north-indian classical music after years of studies in India.
KPE live is indian classical music with the dimensions of ovetone vocal and monochord added, while KPE in studio combines the indian classical tradition with electronic influences.
Stian started his sitarstudies in 1996 and have since then continued his studies through frequent visits to India. After the initial training from the late Sambonath Bhattacharya he continued under the guidance of Khursid Ali Khan, a former student of Ustad Vilayat Khan, and since 2005 also from Gaurav Mazumdar, a senior student of Pandit Ravi Shankar.
Karuna started to play guitar in the age of 15. After a while he studies classical guitar at the Prayner Konservatorium in VIenna. Since then he played in several bands of the scene in Vienna. 2000 he removed to the countryside of austria and founded the ederhof-studio. Since this time he is active in several projects, such as SonuSphaera, Mind Intrance and the Groove Experience Orchestra.
Sebastian plays percussion and didgeridoo since 2000. He has organized a lot of didge & drumsessions in austria and is also founder of Klangrausch and member of Mind Intrance.
Martin plays the Monochord for at least 15 years and is also known for his famous candles, which we use in our performances.
Moa started her tablastudies in Varanasi with Sudip Bhattacharya in 1999. From 2003 she has been trained by Pandit Kishore Kumar Mishra, a senior student of Pandit Sharda Sahai of Varanasi gharana.
