    Hello KPFA,
I heard about the incident with your volunteering engineer Nadra Foster, how she was exposed to police brutality due to your own management's inconsiderate decisions. You guys should really do something for reparation for that poor lady. Such a hypocritical incident will bring down the positive image of your station as a non-mainstream media providing essential information to the concerned citizens of this country who are seeking truth and integrity practiced in your broadcasting work. I don't know if I want to support you with my donation anymore after I heard about your disastrous treatment of your worker within your company. At least you owe everyone an explanation if you insist on justifying your management's deed.
    Peace.

This week marks the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

San Francisco Composer/ Vibraphonist Charles Xavier has just returned from his New England tour and he’s scheduled to perform in New Orleans during this October (club dates pending). Check out the live performance on www.youtube.com/thexmancometh of the song American Refugee or purchase his CD, The Xman Cometh documenting this historical event on the song American Refugee. Help support a truely creative American artist by purchasing an MP3 of this song from iTunes or sending a bulletin to your friends this weekend about the Xman’s music to your myspace community for the very first time!

    see the video at www.youtube.com/thexmancometh

    Katrina and American Refugee
The more I worked on this song, the bigger it grew. When Hurricane Katrina ripped up New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama, it tore open our hearts too. What did we see? It’s now the three year anniversary of Katrina. Has enough been done?
Bass: Anonymous X; Liberty / Drums: Jim Xavier / Guitar: Frankie Blue / Synthesizer: Richard Larson / Percussion: Charles Xavier / Trumpet: Warren Gale / Vibraphone: Charles Xavier / Vocals: Charles Xavier

On “The XMan Cometh – Expect the Unexpected,” Xavier takes that winning combination to the next level, with the support of a wide array of musicians, including – among others - Sam Riney (Ray Charles and Chaka Khan) on sax, Warren Gale (Grateful Dead) on trumpet, Barry Reynolds (Grace Jones, Marianne Faithful), Frankie “Blue” Sposato (Tricky, Garbage, Jamiroquai) on guitars, Richard Larsen on keyboards (Erasure, Berlin), Antonio “Tony” Newton (Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson) and Steve Loria (Spirit, Tricky) on basses.

On “The Xman Cometh – Expect the Unexpected,” Xavier serves up music with meaning and message, delivering hope and a call for personal and socio-political change in a fast and complex world.

Hi myspace folks of the Bay Area. I've just moved to Northern California and I'm hoping to connect with like minded people who are into meditation or music or ecology or wholefoods or saving the planet or retiring in the woods with a pet otter. I'm a meditation teacher, a monk, and a musician from New Zealand and I'm performing a house concert in Berkeley next week. I call my music Spiritual Eco-Folk - I play guitar and sing - a bit like Cat Stevens or Donovan if you remember them! And I have an ecological multimedia show that goes with the music called "Warriors of the Rainbow". There will be a short meditation at the end of the concert, followed by light refreshments. I'd love you can come:

    Berkeley Saturday 6th September
House concert at the home of Mark Friedman and Carolyn Said
    Music and light refreshments
    7.30pm $15
1237 Rose St, Berkeley, Ca 94702

    hello!
welcome to our network and thank you very much for being here!
our intentions are to build a network that better helps us all realize and manifest our goals and dreams, for me i envision a society in which all the people are peaceful, free, and provided for, i don't think that in this day and age that anyone on earth should be without basic necessities, as humans we're just too smart and too capable to continue letting things go the way we are, if we spent the amount we did on war towards helping people and building a better system it would happen over night, but somehow i think awakening humanity to that realization is not in the agenda of those in power, hence, World Unification Network! the idea is to stand up as individuals in an equally owned and operated network to declare our own rights while establishing a clear direction and set of goals by using Y(Our) voice ( http://worldunificationnetwork.ning.com/yourvoice) to discuss, debate, and vote on things which are important to us, and then to enact a plan of action so that we might see these changes in our lifetime, while building a more representative social structure online along the way, which if my hopes come true, may replace a corrupt government or 2 in the process (how about all of them!)
its a "far out" idea, but one that is worth every bit of energy i (you (we)) put into it, the only way it can be possible is if you believe it is!
the network exists to help you, to help yourself, and the more of us that are here, the louder and more clear our voice will be!
please make yourself @ home, and help us create a network that you are happy to tell your friends and family about!

Hey Friends, it's me, Flowmotion & the Meltdown Festival.

Just wanted to remind everyone, the festival is coming up in about two weeks or so. Ticket prices will be higher at the gate so now is the time to buy them. 30+ bands on three stages, camping on 40 acres next to the river and epic views of glacier capped Whitehorse Mountain from the stage. It's about 75 minutes north of Seattle in Darrington WA. This is going to be one of the best years yet, so please tell all your friends and help spread the Meltdown word! credit crunch fuel and food wars - it's time to get real people

    When the lights go out
What you gonna do when the lights go out no one to listen to you scream and shout
    It’s coming/It’s here
How you gonna feel when the lines go dead and your Third World life stretches out ahead

There’s only so much bio fuel to burn and maybe we’ve already used it
There’s only so much Planet Earth cam take and we’ve well and truly abused it
There was always plenty of wealth to go round but never in the hands of the greedy few who possess it
Only enough stuff left for 2 billion 6 billion plus gonna be around to contest it

Bullshit words and empty deeds feed the doubt and plant the seed
New demand gives way to new war targeting resources where our enemies are
Feed you till you’re fit to burst make you hunger make you thirst
Expectation is the key keeps you thinking that you live free
Faced with recession faced with loss it’s easier to ignore the cost
More tacit consent more Third World horror keeps you feeling safe tomorrow
But soon enough when the wind turns cold you’ll have to face the lie you’ve been told
You’ll fuck your neighbours and fuck your friends and this is where your humanity ends
